Specification of Letters Patent.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JONAS C. JAooBY, a citizen of United States, residing at South J ethlehem, in the county of Northampton and State of Pennsylvania, have invented new and useful Improvements in Steel Clamps, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in concrete forms for buildings and aims to provide a clamp for holding the walls of the form in position and may be used in the construction of building walls, chimneys, silos and the like.
An object of the invention is the provision of a clamp for concrete forms, which is adjustable for walls of difierent widths and in which the height and length of the form sections may be regulated as desired.
Another object is the provision of a clamp of this character, which is suspended from above and may be easily and quickly raised as the work progresses.
With the above and other objects in view, the invention further includes the following novel features and details of construction, to be hereinafter more fully described, and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.

Referring to the drawings in detail like characters of reference denote corresponding parts throughout the several views.
In the practical embodiment of the invention, herein shown and described, there is provided spaced parallel suspending arms indicated at 10. These arms are arranged in pairs and are channel shaped in cross section, each pair being connected at their upper ends by means of a transversely arranged bar 11, which engages the arms in the manner indicated at 12 so as to permit of proper adjustment. The arms are supported preferably by means of a timber 13, which may be in turn supported in any suitable manner, such as by jacks and cribbing (not shown).
The supporting arms are channeled in.
cross sectional shape and each pair are so spaced as to receive in their channels the ends of timbers 14, which form the side walls of the mold and between which the material is placed in the formation of a wall. These timbers are separately placed within the channels of the supporting arms and the walls formed thereby may be raised to any desired height by the insertion of the proper number of timbers. For the purpose of adding length to the side walls of the mold, the supporting arms 10 have secured thereto a channeled member 15, the latter being arranged with its channel extending in a direction opposite from the channel of the supporting arm 10 so as to provide for the reception of the ends of additional timbers 14:. This channeled member 15 may be shown shorter in length than the supporting arms 10 and may be secured to the said arms through the medium of suitable bolts or rivets 16. It is of course obvious that instead of securing together oppositely extending channel members, an H beam may be substituted for the arms 10.
In order to provide for proper adjustment of the arms of each pair, each arm has pivotally connected thereto upper and lower links 17, the latter in turn having pivotally connected thereto nuts 18, the latter serving to pivotally connect the links of opposite supporting arms. Operating within the nut 18 is an adjusting rod 19, the ends of which are'oppositely threaded, so that by rotating this rod the arms may be drawn together orseparated as desired. This may be accomplished by the insertion of a suitable tool in the openings 20 provided for that purpose.
The invention is susceptible of various changes in its form, proportions and minor details of construction, and the right is reserved to make such changes as properly fall within the scope of the appended claims.
F or example, the adjusting screw may be removed from the supporting arms and the latter connected by the insertion of a solid steel bar. when the invention is used in extra heavy walls.
