which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to new and useful improvements in rotary water motors which may be employed as a pump, and an important object of the invention is to provide a device of this nature including a stator having journaled therein a rotor and rotary member, the axis of thorotor being arranged above the axis of therotary member between the intake and the discharge ports of the stator to insure non-leakage in the stator.
Another object of the invention is to provide a device including a stator having a rotor and rotary member journaled therein upon relatively offset axes, and in which is embodied means whereby a blade carried by the rotor has at all times the proper axially offset relation to the stator.
A still further to provide simple pensate for wear of the motor.
Other objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent during the course of the following description.
With the above and other objects in view, which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and the de tails oi. construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that, with in the scope of and efficient means to comimposed upon several parts what is claimed, changes in tlie precise embodiment of the invention 40 shown can be made without departing from. the spirit of the invention.

ment of the invention, the numeral l designates the stator, in general, which consists of a side plate 5, equipped with :1 depending portion 6 terminating in a base 7, from which extends an upright standard 8, the upper end of which is provided with a bearing 9 having the usual oil cup mounted thereon.
The inner face of the side plate is provided adjacent its top with a recess 11 from which extends a second recess 12 smaller in diameter than the recess 11. provided upon the side plate 5 the recess 12 at its outer end. is journaled on the hub and in the bearing 9. A bushing 15 is retained within the hub and receives the shaft 141- for rotation.
A rotor 16 is journaled in the recess 11. and is provided with a boss 17 jouvnaled in the recess. T he shaft securedto the rotor by a cross-pin 18, mounted in the boss 17 and held therein by the outstanding part of the plate 5 wherein the recess 12 is located.
As shown in Fig. 2, the top 19 of the stator has its interior surface provided with an arcuate recess 20, which is arranged between the discharge and intake ports 21 and 22 respectively. T he periphery of the rotor engages the arcuate recess for a purpose which will appear hereinafter.
As shown in Fig. 2, the rotor is equipped with a diametrically extending slot 23, the
alls of which carry expansible facings 2% held in proper position by retaining bolts 25.
A blade 26 is slidably mounted in the slot 223 of the rotor between the facings 2 1 and is retained therein through the medium of a pin 27 extending through a bushing 28 in the blade. This pin 27 is carried by a retary member 2'9, in a form of a disk, the pin being mounted on the disk adjacent the periphery thereof. The relative outer face of the rotary member 29 is equipped with an annular rib 30 arranged adjacent the edge of the disk and a pin 31 extends transversely through the pin. 27 and into the rib 30 to retain the pin 27 on rotary member 29.

It will be apparent that the rotor and the rotary member are journaled in the stator upon relatively offset axes. Therefore when the device is used as a Water motor and the Water enters the stator through the inlet port, the Water will exert a pressure upon the portion of the blade 26 which projects beyond the periphery of the rotor. Due to the by the rotary member 29 adjacent the periphery thereof, it will be seen that the blade will slide in the slot of the rotor and at the same time will cause rotation of the rotor, rotary movement being imparted to the shaft ll. Should either the rotary member 29 or any other associated parts become Worn, the screw 40 may be adjusted to move the bushing 38 and the member 29 inwardly thereby to compensate for wear upon the Worn parts.
The shaft 14: is so located that the periphcry of the rotor 16 is held in engagement with the recess 20, and, consequently, leakage between theinlet 21 will be prevented.
Having thus described my invention what is claimed is: I
1. In a device of the class described, a stator; a rotor and a plate at one end'ot the rotor, the rotor and the plate being journaled on different axes, the rotor being in contact throughout a portion of its periphery with the inner curve of the stator, the plate being of larger diameter than the rotor; a
