Beit known that I, FREDERCK EDGELL, of Buialo, in the county of Erie and State of New Yorkhave invented an Improved Calendar Pen-and-Pencil Holder, of which the following is a specification:
My invention relates to the combination, with a pen-and-pencil holder, of' sleeves arranged to turn and slide thereon in such a manner and in such relation to the igures thereon as will form a continuous calendar by proper daily adjustment.
In the accompanying drawing, Figure I is a view of the penand-pencil case and Acalendar complete. Fig. II is a section 0n line wx. Fig. III shows the sleeve upon which the days of the week are engraved. Fig. IV shows the sleeve upon which the names of the months are engraved. Fig. V shows the slide upon and through which the days of the month are displayed. Fig. VI is a section of the pencil-case, the movable slides being removed.

The mode of adjusting the calendar is as follows: Commencing on Monday, January l, the blank opening a2 in the sleeve B is used by sliding over the figures on the pencil-tube, moving it from one number to another until the tenth day of the month is reached, When the sleeve is turned on the tube until the opening a3 is in line with the The sleeve is then moved until the cipher is shown through the opening, showing l0. The sleeve is then slid back until figure l is under the opening, showing the eleventh day of the month. It is then slid over the numbers, as before, and at 9 turned on the tube until the opening a4 is in line With Jthe gures, when the sleeve is slid over them, as before, completing the month. The days of the Week are changed by turning the sleeve d from one day to another, -and the days of the month are changed in a silnilar manner by turning and sliding the sleeve d.
The object of my invention is to supply the trade With a convenient pocket-calendar peuand-pencil holder, Which can use up small pieces of pencil, and can be made at :a small cost.
