Be it known that I, ELMER B. SToNE, a
citizen of the United States, residing at New Britain, in the county of Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented a new and Improved-Terminal for Electrical Purposes, of which the following is a specification and in the construction and use ofwhich the objects herein set out, as well as others, may be attained, is illustrated in the accom panying drawings, in wh1ch Figure 1 is a view of a piece of insulated wire showing my improved terminal attached thereto, one end having the insulation partly removed to illustrate the method of attachment.

In its preferred form this "support comprises a short tube 8. In securing my improved terminal in place the ear 13 is grasped between the thumb and fore-finger and the sharpened edge 10 is placed against the end of the insulating material, with the wire in the center. By turning the terminal in a directionto cause the thread 9 to draw the ter V minal into the insulating material, said terminal may be readily forced into place, and as particularly shown in Fig. 1 of the drawings. When thus positioned it will be noted that the support is thoroughly embedded in the substance of the insulating material, there being'a portion 15 of such substance located between the wire and the support as well as a substantial part of the material outside of the support, and the latter will be thus securely and firmly held in place. The wire 7 may be engaged between the car 13 and a binding screw or like part, but the wire is preferably secured to the terminal by placing the wire in the notch 12 and then placing solder 16 or like material within the opening 14 to secure the wire firmly in'place. In accordance with the provisions of the patent statutes, I have described the principles of operation of my invention, together with the device which I now consider to represent the best embodiment thereof; but
