An ordnance shell having an explosive charge and means for detonating it, said means including a tubular member, a detonatwith the rear end l ing charge in alinement said tubular member and ii; operative relation to the explosive the obj ect charge of the shell; and, infalinementwith the forwardvend of said passage, another detonating charge andmeans for detonating the latter including a contact tiring pin, the length of")said passage and the distang'e of the fuse detonating charge in advance of the shell detonating charge being for the purpose and with the'result of substantially advancing the position of-explosion of the 14. An ordnance shell having a shellpointer secured to the forward fend thereof extending axially and a longitudinal bore formed within said shell-pointer, an explosive charge withinv said longitudinal bore, a. cap and fuse secured inthe forward part of said lon 'tudinal bore'and va contact ring pinwith means to hold same in position secured within the forward part of said way to explode said cap and ignite the explosive charge within the longitudinal bore within said shell-pointer when the contact firingv pin comes 1 n contact with the ground, object or target. 15.- An ordnance shell having. a shellpointer secured to the forward end thereof, extending axially and formed with. a longitudinal bore for an explosive charge within an explosive charge within said longitudinal bore and a contactliring pin and cap secured within-said lshellpointer. in a way that the contactfiring pin will explode said cap upon contact with the ground, object or. target.
16. An ordnance shell pointer secured to the forward end thereof, extending axially and formed with a longitudinal bore for anexplosive charge within said shell-pointer, the rear end of said longi-q tudinal bore being larger in circumference,
and the Wallsf and end of shell-pointer made l thinner to cause same -to explode at said rear end. of shell-pointer, a tube for explof sives secured -within the shell incasing the dsaid rear elfd ofthe shell-pointer, van-explosive charge 4pointer and meansto ignite. the' explosive having I a shellcharges within the said tube and shell with the fire and 'force of the Iexplosion of the explosive charge within the bore of said shell-pointer.
17. An ordnance shell having a .shellpointer secured to the forward end thereof,
extending axially and formed with a longitudinal bore for an explosive charge within said shell-pointer, an explosive charge within said longitudinal bore, a contact firing pin and cap secured within the forward part of said shell-pointer, a tube for explosives secured within said shell incasing the rear end of said shell-pointer, an explosive charge within said tube, a cavity for explosives within said shell incasing said tube, an explosive charge within said cavity, meansto ignite the explosive charge within the longitudinal bore within said shell-pointer and means to ignite a plurality of explosive charges secured within said shell with the fire and force of each explosive charge ex`- ploded in advance of each other.

An ordnance shell having a shellpointer secured to the forward end thereof, extending axially and formed with a longitudinal bore for explosives within saidshellpointer, an explosive charge within said ongitudinal bore, a cavity for explosives within said shell and means secured within said shell-pointer to'ignite the said explosive charges within said shell-pointer and said shell.

An ordnance shell having. a removable shell-pointer secured to the forward end thereof extending axially and formed with a longitudinal bore for explosives within said shell-pointer, an explosive charge within said longitudinal bore, a contact firing pin and cap secured within the forward part of said shell-pointer, a cavity'for explosives within said shell, an explosive charge within said cavity and means secured-within said shell-pointer to ignite said elxpllosive charge within the cavity of said s el.
20. An ordnance shell having a shellpointer secured to the forward end thereof extending axially and formed with an explosive charge within said shell-pointer, a cap secured within said shell-pointer, an explosive charge secured within said shell and means secured within said shell-pointer to ignite the explosive charge within said shellpointer and ignite the explosive charge within said shell.

An ordnance shell having a shellpointer secured to the forward end thereof extending axially and formed with an explosive cha'rge within said shell-pointer, a cap and fuse secured within said shellpointer, a plurality of explosive charges secured within said shell and means secured within said shell-pointer to ignite the explosive charge within said shell-pointer and ignite the plurality of explosive charges within said shell.

An ordnance shell having a shellpointer secured to the forward end thereof extending axially and formed with a plurality of explosive charges within said shellpointer, a cap and. fuse secured within said shell-pointer, a plurality of explosive charges secured within said shell and means secured within said shell-pointer to ignitev the plurality of explosive charges within said shell-pointer and ignite the plurality of explosive charges within said shell.

An ordnance shell having a shellpointer secured to the forward end thereof extending axially, a plurality of explosive charges secured within said shell-pointer, a plurality of explosiveV charges secured within said shell, and means secured within said shell-pointer to ignite said plurality of explosive charges within said shell-pointer and ignite said plurality of explosive charges within said shell.

An ordnance shell having a. shellpointer secured to the forward `end thereof extending axially, an explosive char e secured within said shell-pointenan exp osive charge secured within said shell, and means -Secured within said shell-pointer to ignite said explosive charge within said shellpo'inter and ignite said explosive charge within said shell.

An ordnance shell having a shellpointer secured to the forward end thereof extendingv axially, a plurality of explosive charges secured within said shell-pointer, a plurality of explosive charges secured within said shell, means secured within said shell-pointer to ignite the most forward explosive charge within the shell-pointer, means to ignlte the said plurality of explosive charges within said shell-pointer and said shell with the fire and force of each explosive charge exploded in advance of each other.

An ordnance shell having a shellpointer secured to the forward end thereof extending axially, an explosive char secured within said shell-polnter, an exp osive charge secured within said shell, means secured within said shell-pointer to i ite said explosive charge within said she l-pointer and means-to lgnite said explosive charge within said shell with-the fire and force of the explosion of the said explosive charge within said shell-pointer.
27. A11 ordnance shell having a shellpointer secured to the forward end thereof extending axially, an explosive charge Secured within said shell-pointer and means secured within said shellointer to i ite said explosive charge within said s ella shellpointer.
28. An ordnance shell having v ointer secured to the forward end thereof extending axially, a plurality of explosive charges secured within said shell-pointer and means secured within said shell-pointer to ignite said plurality of explosive charges within said shell-pointer. f

An ordnance shelll having a shellpointer secured to the forward end thereof extending axially, an explosive 'charge and cap secured within said shell-pointer and. means secured wit-hin said shell-pointer to ignite said explosive charge within said .shell-pointer, said shell-pointer being straight from the shell to the forward end and the outer part having its Walls of mate- -rial and thickness sufficient to confine the force of the explosion against material lateral expansion.
30. An ordnance shell having a shellpointer composed of a plurality of parts secured to the forward end thereof extending axially, an explosive charge secured within said shell-pointer and means secured Iwithin said shell-pointer to ignite said explosive charge within said shell-pointer.
