To all whom it may concern:
.Be it known that I, DANIEL B. PnRKINs, a citizen oi the United States, residing at Providence, in the county of Providence and State of Ithode Island, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in lIounts for Safety-Razor Blades, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to mounts or holders for safety razor blades. In these structures it is usual to retain the blade by clamping it between two individual plates. The in dependent character of the latter often results in unequal friction upon diiierent areas of the blade, and in slipping or uneven lo cation of the plates relatively to each other and to the blade.
The essential objects of my invention are to not only overcome the disadvantages above enumerated, but also to insure a perfoot bearing of the blade edge upon the comb; to facilitate the insertion and removal oi the blade from its seat; and to simplify the construction and reduce the cost of manufacture of the mount.
To the above ends essentially my invention consists in such parts and in such combinations or parts as fall within the scope of the appended claims.

The body of my mount, in its present and preferred embodiment, is struck and bent up from a thin metal blank by suitable tools in a single piece. This body is shown in detail in Figs. 4 and 5 and consists of an oblong plate 8 having aplane rear margin 9 provided with a central peripheral recess 10, and continuous with a somewhat narrower lip portion 11 in the same plane, and

The lateral margins of the plate at each side of the lip are depressed forming oifset arms in a plane parallel with that of the lip but below the latter until they merge in the ends oi the comb bar 15 which is suiiiciently upwardly inclined at a point forward of the lip to bring the bases of its teeth 16 nearly in the plane of the under face of the lip. In the initial cutting there is formed from the material of the plate 8 inwardly directed lateral lugs 18 near the rear ends of the arms.
Herein is shown the blade 20 and backing 21 of the usual fety razor. The blade is inserted by sliding it downwardly through the space 28 between the lugs 18 and the lip 10 until its forward or sharp edge overlies the bar 15 at or adjacent the teeth 16, and the backing 2 abuts against the lugs 18. Since the described body 8 is struck up from a single piece there is a slight relative resiliency between the lip 11 and the arms 13 and bar 15 which insures an adequate pressure of the blade edge against the face oi? the bar 15 regardless of any varying thickness of blades introduced.
The blade or body 8 may be attached for use to any desired handle 25 in any usual or convenient manner. In this instance there is initially punched up from the plate 8, in or adjacent the lip 11, a square projection 27. A. yoke 28 comprising a body 29 and legs 80 and 31, has a square cavity 33 in the leg 30 adapted to receive tl e projection 27. The yoke body 29 registers in the recoss 10, while the leg 31 has a threaded perforation 3% adaptedto re eive the threaded terminal portion 86 oi the handle 25. By rotating the latter the end of the portion or pin 36 presses against the blade backing 21 and cooperates with the leg 30 to hold the plate 8 rigid relatively to the handle. Obviously the handle may be detached by unscrewing the same and sliding the loop or yoke 28 from the plate 8.
I claim 1. In. a razor blade mount, a plate, a lip integral with the plate and formed there from, arms formed from the plate at each side of the lip and extending in a plane parallel with the plane of the lip, a comb bar upon the ends of the arms inclined toward the lip and spaced therefrom, and lateral lugs on the arms.
2. In a razor blade mount, a plate, arms on the plate, a comb bar on the arms adapted to support one end of a blade, a lip on the plate adapted to overlap the blade, a yoke eomprisingone leg overlapping the plate,
and another arm provided with an opening, and a handle rotatably mounted in the'open- 10 ing and engageable With the other end of the blade.
