UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
NICOLA. L. SANTILLI, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
HOLDER FOB PHONOGRAIPE DISK RECORDS AND THE LIKE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Mar. 15, 1921.
Application filed May 10, 1929. Serial No. 380,071.
vention is to prevent disk records from fall- 7 ing out of their holder in all positions of the latter. Another object of the invention is to improve the holder in other respects as will appear from the following description at the end of which the'invention will be claimed.
The accompanying drawings illustrate an embodiment of the invention and in them- Figure 1 is an elevational view" with parts broken away.
Fig. 2 is an end elevation.
Fig. 3 is an elevational view, and Figs. 4 and 5, are fragmentar views of the inside illustrative'of the mo e of operation.
In the drawings 1, is an envelop provided with a flap 2, and having at the fold of the flap a slot 3. When the envelop is turned up-side-down, its flap 2, will confront the adjacent or front face of the envelop and the edge of the disk record a, will take into the slot 3, and so the record will be retained in the envelop. 4, is a metallic back provided with posts 5 and covers 6. Greased or hinge-extensions 7 on the envelop are attached to these posts as by means of eyelets 8. The metallic back and creased extensions 7, accommodate the album to use with disk records which are relatively heavy.
9, is a window or opening which may be provided in the front and back of the envelop to expose the title of the record to view.
In the described record holder the flaps-=2, happen to be shown at the top and in such 'case if the holder be inverted the flaps being between the pages are not free to open into the plane of the envelops and they therefore serve to oppose the escape of the records, but the slots 3, at the folds of the flaps by receiving the rims of the records, positively prevent their escape, even if the flaps be opened so as to lie in the planes of their envelops.
If the slot 3, extends from the flap fold into the back of the envelop as at 3, the extensions accommodate the finger used to remove the record from the envelop.
I claim:
l. A holder for phonograph disk records and the like comprising a binding, and a series of envelops bound in the binding and each provided with a flap and with a marginal slot operativel arranged at the feld of the flap, substantial as described.
2. A holder for pgonograph disk records and the like comprising an album provided with pa es consisting of envelo s having margina flaps and provided at t e fold of the flaps with slots extending into the backs of the envelops, substantially as described.
3. A holder for disk phonograph records consisting of an envelop having a flap and provided at the fold of the flap with a slot adapted to receive the rim of a disk record and so retain t, substantially as described.
