Referring to the drawings in detail, the numeral 10 indicates the barrel provided with a front sight 11, used in connection 7 with the tangent sight 14 which may be used for various ranges by adjusting the heiglft of its peep sight with the usual device.
Inclosed within the handle 15 is a magazine, retractable by the extending knobs 16', at the butt of the handle when the retaining or detent spring is released by actuating the extending knob 17. This handle is formed with a slide-way 18 containing undercut grooved recesses in whichare slidably fitted Specification of Letters Patent.

The breech frame is locked to the handle disengageably by means of spring actuated detents operated by theextending lever 19, the same being provided with an actuating knob. v I H Pivoted in the upper portion of thebreech frame on thepin 20, is. a lever 21, hingedly engaged at 22, with another lever 23. EX- tending toward the front and pivoted on the pin 2 is-a slidable breech-block 25, which carries the firing pin 26.
Formed with the pin 26ris a cylindrical tubular casing 27, slidable in the breech- ,block which has an opening'28 through its front end adapted to receive. the firing pin 26 when projected forWard,-the same making contact at the end of a cartridge, the head of which is held in the recess 29 formed in the breech-block, the cartridge being held in operative position by a spring, actuated hook 30 set in the top of the block 25, and pivoted on the pin 31, the same being pressed up when anew cartridge is received within the cartridge chamber.
A safety lever 32 is pivoted on the side at the-lower portion of the lock casing, the same, when in a lowered position, pressing up a detent engageable with the block 25 and preventing the latter from moving for ward.
Inclosed within the firing pin tube 27, is a coiled compression spring 33, encircling a pin 34, formed with a head 35, set in the block 25, and adapted to engage in a recess 36, formed in the rear end of the block, the said tube having a shouldered abutment 37, engageable with an angular detent 38, formed with a lever 39 normally held in an engaging position by a flat spring 40 secured in a recess formed in the side of the slideway 18, the lever 39 being pivoted upon the pin 41 and terminating in an arm 42. adapted to be operated by the firing mechanism of the pistol.
A plate 43, secured upon the outer side in the lower portion of the casing, carries a bell-crank lever having an arm 44 engageable with the lever arm 42, whereby the lever 39 may be operated to release the firing pin 26, the other end 45 ofthe bell-crank lever extending inwardly to engage with the trigger devices.

standard type of pistol, not to be considered as part of the present invention, which resides in the novel form of trigger, rifle stock and barrel grip as will now be described.
The hand grip 50 is preferably formed of wood or other material not adapted to conduct the heat of the barrel to the hand of the operator and is secured by clips 51 and 52 at its respective ends, to the lower side of the barrel 10, adjacent to the upper portion of the breech-frame.
A rifle stock 53 is formed with, or rigidly connected to, the handle 15, the same (EXtGIlC ing toward the rear, and adapted to be applied to the shoulder of the operator, whereby the rifle may be steadied and accurately aimed in firing. The stock is preferably made of wood, having a metallic engaging portion 54 containing an open recess 55 in its lower portion in which is mounted a trigger 56, pivoted upon a pin 57, and provided with a rearwardlyextending lug 58, the trigger being normally pressed forward by a spring 59.
A recess 60 extends vertically upward from the recess 61 in which the trigger lug 58 operates, the recess 60 merging at a right angle into the recess 62, extending toward the front of the rifle, as indicated.
Journaled' in the recess 62, upon the pin 63, is a lever, the rear arm 64 of which is bentat a right angle, forming an arm 65 extending downward into the recess 61, and en'gageable by the lug 58 when the trigger is drawn Iearwardly, as at the moment of firing. The other end 66 of the lever is turned angularly upward, as at 67, and bent slightly toward the center of the gun, and terminates in a projection 68 adapted to engage with the arm 45 of the bell-crank lever, which operates the lever arm 42, releasing the detent 38 from the firing pin 26, allowing it to be projected forward to strike the cartridge.
. From the foregoing it will be seen that built-in attachments have been provided whereby an automatic pistol may be changed to a shoulder, stocked rifie capable of convenient and effective service in a practical manner, so that it may be used to better advantage then ordinarily.
Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
In a gun of the class described, the combination with an automatic pistol having a handle, lock and barrel, of a stock adjoining said handle and lock, said stock being adapted to rest upon the shoulder of an operator, recesses formed in the side of said stock, extending through said handle, a trigger pivoted in said stock adjacent to said handle, said trigger having a rearwardly extending lug, a lever mounted in the mentioned recesses, said lever having a part engageable by said lug, means for normally holding said trigger in a forward position, and means at-the opposite end of said lever engageable with the firing mechanism of said loc r.
