Description

UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
WADI M. HABEEB, OF WEST NEW YORK, NEW JERSEY, ASSIGNOR TO SPIROGIDE CORPORATION, OF NEW YORK, N. Y., A CORPORATION OF NEW YORK.
MEDICINAL COMPOUND.
No Drawing.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WADI M. Hannnn, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of West New York, in the county of Hud' son and State of New Jersey, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Medicinal Compounds, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to medicinal compounds having spirochetaecidal characteristics, and is particularly directed to a medicinal compound to be used in the treatment of syphilis and its complications.
The compound is a combination of merbody, of the patient becomes enveloped in the fumes from the burning mass and is thereby thoroughly fumigated.
The ingredients of the compound are mercury (metallic), copper sulfate, cypress nuts or cones, henna, nut gall and pomegranate peel. and I have obtained the best results by proportioning the ingredients of the mixture substantially as follows Mercury (metallic) 25% Copper sulfate E2 )1. Cypress nuts or cones 20% Henna M 20% Nut gall 5% Pomegranate peel 5% In manufacturing the compound, the

vegetable ingredients thereof, that is to say, the cypress nuts or cones, henna, nut gall and pomegranate peel, are first desiccated and then reduced to a fine powder either by hand or in a suitable machine; the copper sulfate is then pulverized and mixed with the powdered vegetable matter. A suitable amount of distilled Water is then added to the powdered mixture so as to form a pasty mass into which the mercury in the proper proportion indicated above is then kneaded. The resultant mass is then shaped into the desired form.
What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is 1. A medicinal compound having a spongy appearance and consisting of metallic mercury, copper sulfate and vegetable matter functioning to give the compound consistency and burning qualities.
A medicinal compound consisting of metallic mercury, copper sulfate, cypress nuts or cones, henna, nut gall and pomegranate peel, the cypress nuts, henna, nut gall and pomegranate peel functioning to give the compound consistency and burning qualities.
3. A medicinal compound consisting of metallic mercury, copper sulfate, cypress nuts or cones, henna, nut gall and pomegranate peel, substantially in the proportions, twenty-five per cent. (25%) mercury, twenty-five per cent. (25%) copper sulfate, twenty per cent. (20%) cypress nuts or cones, twenty per cent. (20%) henna, five per cent. (5%) nut gall, and five per cent. (5%) pomegranate peel, the cypress nuts, henna, nut gall and pomegranate peel functioning to give the compound consistency and burning qualities.
This specification signed and witnessed this 29th day of September, A. D., 1919.
