Abstract

A cream preparation for application to the skin comprises a goat or ewe cream, glycerine (glycerol), white paraffin and the volatile oil of one or more of a group of plants including rose, coconut and rosemary and plant blossom including apple and orange, mixed in such proportions as to provide a substance of creamy consistency. Optionally active ingredients such as comfrey or celandine may be present and the cream then becomes useful in treating skin allergies and complaints.

Description

SPECIFICATION Skin care preparation This invention relates two a skin care preparation which can be formulated to provide a cosmetic creme orto provide an ointment. The preparation includes as its fundamental ingredient cream from goat or ewes milk.

In oneformulation,the preparation provides a cosmetic skin care cream and in anotherformulation,an unctuous preparation is provided for the treatment of numerous skin allergies and complaints of both humans and animals.

One aspect of the invention provides a preparation for application to the skin which preparation comprises goat or ewe cream, glycerine (glycerol), white paraffin and the volatile oil of one or more of a group of plants including apple and orange mixed in such proportions asto provide a substance of creamy consistency.

According to a feature of this aspect of the invention, the preparation may comprise between 60-70% by volume goatorewe cream, 7-1 2% byvolume glyerine, 7-12% byvolumewhite paraffin and 4-10% byvolume essential oil of rose, apple blossom or orange blossom. Preferably, the preparation comprises 70% by volume goat or ewe cream, 11% byvolume glycerine, 11% byvolumewhite paraffin and 8% byvolume essential oil of rose, apple blossom or rose blossom.

Either of the preparations according to the two immediately preceeding paragraphs may further include rosemary oil and comfrey or celandine.

According to another feature of this aspect of the invention, the preparation may comprise goat or ewe cream, glycerine, white paraffin, essential oil of coconut, essential oil of rosemary and comfrey. The preparation may comprise between 60-75% by volume goat or ewe cream,4-l by volume glycerine, 4-10% by volume white paraffin, 2-5% byvolumeessential oil of coconut, 0.25%-0.6% by volume rosemary oil and 0.25-0.6% by volume comfrey or celandine.

Another aspect of the invention provides a method of producing a skin care preparation comprising the mixture as by churning of goat or ewe cream, glycerine and white paraffin in gell form to a thick creamy consistency and thereafter adding the essential oil of rose, apple blossom or orange blossom in the ratio of substantially 20:3:3:2 respectively by volume.

A cosmetic preparation embodying the invention will now be described by way of example.

Formulations comprising goat or ewe cream, glycerine or glycerol, white paraffin and pure essential oils such as rose oil or apple blossom oil or orange blossom oil mixed in various proporations have been found to be satisfactory. The following formulation in particular has been prepared to provide about 600 gm ofthe cosmetic preparation and tested satisfactorily as skin care creme.

INGREDIENT AMOUNT Goat or ewe cream 1 pint (20 fl. oz) Glycerine 3oz White Paraffin (gell) 3 oz Essential Oils 2 oz (rose, apple blossom or orange blossom) In the production of the formulation, the goat or ewe cream is extracted from ten (10) pints of milkwhich then preferably is refrigerated for use in solid form. The cream, glycerine and white paraffin are agitated as by churning until they are combined to a thickconsistencywhereafterthe chosen essential oil is mixedto completetheformulation.

Furtherformuiations which provide a skin care ointment comprise goatorewe cream, glycerine orglycerol, white paraffin, coconut or other essential oil, comfrey and rosemary oil mixed in various proportions have been found to be satisfactory. The following formulation in particular has been prepared to provide about 600 gm of the ointment and tested satisfactorily in the treatment of numerous skin allergies and complaints.

INGREDIENT AMOUNT Goat or ewe cream 1 pint (20 fl. oz) Glycerine 3oz White paraffin (gel) 2 oz Essential oils 1 oz (coconut) Rosemary oil 1/8 or Comfrey or 6 leaves Celandine 3 roots In this production oftheformulation,the cream, glycerine and white paraffin are agitated as by churning until they are combined, whereafterthe other components of the formulation are introduced and mixed to complete the ointment of preparation.

It is envisaged that the essential or volatile oil of otherfruit or vegetable plants may be suitable and that a mixture of hydrocarbons similarto paraffin may be used in either of the examples given.

Claims

1. A preparation for application to human or animal skin, which preparation comprises goat or ewe cream, glycerine (glycerol),white paraffin and the volatile oil of one or more of a group of plants, including rose, coconut and rosemary and/or plant blossom including apple and orange mixed in such proportions as to provide a substance of creamyconsistency.

2. The preparation according to claim 1, wherein the preparation comprises between 60-75% by volume goatorewe cream,7-12% byvolumeglycerine,7-12% byvolumewhite paraffin and 4-10% by volume es- sential oil of rose, apple blossom or orange blossom.

3. The preparation according to claim 1 orclaim 2, comprising 70% by volume goat or ewe cream, 1 1% by volume glycerine, 11% byvolumewhite paraffin and 8% byvolume essential oil of rose, apple blossom or orange blossom.

4. A preparation according to claim 2 or claim 3, further including rosemary oil and comfrey orcelandine.

5. A preparation according to claim 1, comprising goat or ewe cream, glycerine, white paraffin, essential oil of coconut, essential oil of rosemary and comfrey orcelandine.

6. A preparation according to claim 5, comprising between 60-75% byvolume goat orewe cream 4-10% by volume glycerine, 4-10% by volume white paraffin, 2-5% by volume essential oil of coconut, 0.25-0.6% by volume rosemary oil and 0.25-0.6% by volume comfrey orcelandine.

7. A method of producing a skin care preparation comprising the mixture as by churning of goat or ewe cream, glycerine and white paraffin in gel form to a thick creamy consistency and thereafter adding the essential oil of rose, apple blossom or orange blossom in the ratio of substantially 20:3:3:2 respectively by volume.

8. A skin care preparation substantially as hereinbefore described according to example 1 or example 2.

9. A method of producing a skin care preparation substantially as herein before described.
