LOUIS B. BOEHMER, OF CINCINNATI, OHIO.
RACK FOR DRAINING VESSELS.
Specication of Letters Patent.
Patented Dec. 28, 1920.
Application led September 22, 1917. Serial No. 192,802.
1o @ZZ 'whom it may concern.'
Be it known that I, Lorns B. BOEHMER, citizen of the United States, and a* resident o1 Cincinnati, in the county of Hamilton and State of Chio, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Racks for Draining Vessels, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification.
My invention relates to devices for drain ing vessels, and has reference particularly to devices for draining varnish and paint vessels.
ln emptying varnish and paint vessels and the like, it is impossible to drain quickly all of the contents of the vessel owing to the viscosity thereof, and therefore, in order to save for use all of the contents of the vessels it is necessary to allow the same to stand inverted for a considerable length of time, at least over night, and drain into an open vessel.
lt is the object of my invention to provide a portable, eilicient and inexpensive rack upon which the varnish or paint vessels and the like, may be placed and allowed to drain.
ln the drawings:
Figure l is a plan view ofthe device, part of one handle being broken away;
Fig. 2 is an elevation o' the same;
Fig. 3 is an elevation showing one manner in which the device may be supported, and showing the vessels placed thereon in position for draining.
Referring more particularly to the drawings, l illustrates cross strips, or bars, upon which are mounted longitudinal strips 2. Suitable spaces 3 are provided between the strips 2 so that the necks of the vessels to be drained may be inserted between the strips.
Handles comprising wires 8SL and hand grips t are provided at each end, preferably over the cross bars 1, the wires 3aL passing under several of the strips 2, suitable s lots being provided in the strips to accommodate the same. Oil-sets, or crooks 6 are provided in each side of the wires 3", thus forming rests 7 on each handle, upon which rests the device may be supported. The handles, it will be noted, may be swung as on pivots to any desired position, thus adjusting' themselves to any available support and also to be folded against the rack proper when not in use for convenient .storage and shipment.
The device may be used as shown in Fig. 3 with one handle resting on the edge of a table 8 and the other on the top of a support 9, or may be suspended between two tables or any other available supporting means.
lilany modifications of my invention as above particularly described may be made without departing from its spirit and scope, and l do not wish to be confined to the eX- act details shown and described.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:
A device of the character described comprising a fiat frame composed of a series of strips, cross-bars to which said strips are fastenechsaid strips being provided with slots contiguous to said cross-bars, wires pivotally secured in said slots between saidcrossbars and said strips and extending outwardly therefrom to form handles, gripping members on said wires, and olf-set portions provided on said handles intermediate the trame and gripping members whereby the device may be suspended between supports.
