Description

UNITED STATES PATENT OEFIcE.
GILMAN D. VVYMAN, OF OSHKOSH, WISCONSIN.
IMPROVEMENT'IN FLOWS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 136,120, dated February 18, 1873-.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, GILMAN D. WYMAN, of Oshkosh, in the county of Winnebago and State of Wisconsin, have invented certain Improvements in Flows, of which the following is a specification:
My invention relates to the combination of a brace and turn-buckle, or equivalent mechanical device, with the body and frame-work of the plow in such a manner that the front end of the beam maybe moved to the right or left, having the standard of the plow as a pivot, the object being to take more or less land, as may be desired by the operator.
Figure 1 is a side view of the plow, show-- ing the brace and turn-buckle in place. Fig. 2 is an enlarged view of the brace and turnbuckle.
A is the beam of the plow. B is the standard, upon which, as a center, the beam moves. D is the brace, which is secured to the beam A or handle E at its upper end, and to the mold-board F or handle H at its lower end. The lower end of the upper part of the brace screws into the upper part of the turn-buckle I. The mold-board F and share J are bolted ed with a movable beam for the purpose of attaining the same object; but when the beam is shifted to the right or left of the center of the standard, the central draft of the plow is changed;
What I claim as my invention is- The combination of the beam A and moldboard handle H, the screw-rod K, and the screw-swivel D, as described. 7
