Be it known that I, W ARREN R. Zmnume MAN, a c1t1zen of the United States, residing at Joplin, in the county of Jasper and State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Toys, of which the following is a specification, reference bein had to the accompanying drawings.

This invention relates to toys and par-v ticularly to a mechanical toy which imi-' tates movements'of the body, and has for its object to provide a toy of this character whereby movement of one or'both of the legs of the body. will cause movement of the arms.

Another object isto provide a toy of this character including pivoted arms and legs,

the ends ofthe legs being disposed between the arms and adapted to move the arms outwardly. V i

Another object is to provide a toy of this character wherein the arms may be moved independently of each other and the legs, or one arm and one leg movedindependently of the opposite arm and leg to imitate various actions. A pair of arms are provided, the arm 14- being pivoted at its end portion to the body 5, the arm being bent atthe elbow and having a cane in the hand thereof. A toy figure comprising a body portion, legs and arms pivoted to said body portion, said legs having extensions, and expansible and contractable means urging the arms toward each other, the extensions of the legs being disposed between and in engagement with the arms, said arms and legs being simultaneously movable toward or away from each other. v 1

A toy figure comprising a body portion, legs pivoted to said body portion, said legs including extensions, arms pivoted to said body portion on each side of the one of said arms being provided with a head gear, and expansible and contractable means urging the arms into engagement with the extensions, the head gear of said arm being applied to the head upon movement of the" pivoted end portions of the arms away from each other and removed from the head upon movement of the pivoted end portions of the arms toward each other. A toy figure comprising a body portion, legs and arms pivoted to said body portion, extensions carried by said legs, and expansible and contractable means urging said extens ons into engagement with each other through the medium of the arms, said extensions being movably disposed between I legs and arms pivoted to said body portion,

A toy figure comprising a body porti on, legs pivoted adjacent one of their ends to the body portion, extensions projecting from said ends, arms pivoted at one of their ends to the body portion above the extensions, each of the pivoted ends of the arms having an extension adapted to engage an extension of a leg, and a spring connected at its ends to ,one pair of the extension's,.said spring urging the extensions of the, arms toward each other and into engagement with the extensions oi the legs, and the'extensions of the legs into engagement with each other, and means carried by the body porr tion for limiting outward movement of the arms and inward movement of the legs.
