Be it known that I, YUBIE VILLLAJVI Boelens, a citizen ot the United States, residing at St. Louis, in the State ot Missouri', have invented a new and useful Combination-Chair7 of which the following is a speciioation.

My invention relates to improvements in combination chairs in which the back is elevated on hinges to a table top position; and the object of my improvement is to provide a chair of this type, having a right angled back support, pivotally connected to one corner ot the seat; with a side panel, having a stirrup like supporting member, rigidly fixed to the said right angled back support. The utility ot' this mechanism in the chair i1" to give access to a receptacle beneath its seat, prevent upsetting` of the table, when swung from the seat, and by the foot in the stirrup, prevent swinging of the table while in use. lf attain these objects by the mechanism illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which-Figure l is a View of the device, when used as an ordinary chair. Fig. 2 is a view of the device, when used as a seat at a table. F ig. 3 is a rear view of the device, showing the mechanism and parts ot' the right angled back supporting members. Similar numerals refer to similar parts, throughout the 3 views. Numeral l is the boX seat ot the chair, having a right angled back supporting member 2, pivotally connected to one of its rear corners, by means of hinges 5. A side-panel 3 is rigidly secured to the back support 2 and serves as door to a receptacle beneath the seat of the chair. A stirrup like support 4 is secured to the panel 3, to prevent upsetting of the table, when swung clear of the seat on its hinges 5. Swinging of the table is prevented and adjustment given bya pressure or twist of the foot in the stirrup 4. The back 6 which forms the surface ot the table is hinged to the horizontal member ot support 2, and is held, when in a table top position, by means of a hinged prop 7, which engages a pin 8 of the vertical member of support 2.

I do not conine myself to the exact arrangements of parts herein shown and described, for many changes may be made in my device, without departing from the nature of my invention.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim is In a combination chair, a seat having a hinged back supporting upright to which a side panel is attachee; a horizontally dis posed member fixed to said upright, a chair back pivotally attached to said horizontal member and adapted to be swung in a horizontal plane'trom normal vertical position to a horizontal table top position thereabout, means to support the back in its latter position, and means to be engaged by the foot to move and support the said panel in ad justed position; substantiall as described.
