Be it known that I, JOHN RUnzrNsKAs, a citizen of Lithuania, residing at Muskegon, county ofrMuskegon, andv State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Cattle-Feeding Troughs, of which the following is a specifcation.

rhis invention relates to mangers used in feeding cattle and it has for an object to provide a novel and improved construction for a manger adapted to hold both the food for the cattle and also the drinking water. A

nMore specically the invention has for an objectl to provide a manger having a movablek element for supporting a water bucket, which element may be swung away from the manger to have the latter free to receive the food for the cattle.

For further comprehension of the inven-l tion, and of the objects and advantages thereof, reference will be had to the following description and accompanying drawings, and to the appended claims in which the various novel features of the invention are more particularly set forth.

Te legs 13 and 13 are extended upwardly along the rear side of the frame above the adjacent side rail 11 as at 16 and 16 to form a headstall and have a pair of bars 17 and 18 secured to their upper ends on opposite faces` thereof, these bars being of equal length with the rails 10 and 11, thus extending from end to end of the manger. Secured to the back face of the rear legs in juxtaposition to the rear rail 11 is a supplementary rail 20 and between these rails 11 and 20 are pivoted as at 21 the lower ends of yoke levers 22 whose upper ends project freely between the top bars 17 and The upper extensions 16 of the intermediate legs 13 divide the headstall of the manger into sections as'will be apparent, a pair of these yoke levers being disposed in each section and when separated to their fullest extent upwardly beside the extensions 16 and 16 of the legs. The lower portions of the inner faces of each pair of yoke levers is recessed as at 22 to provide a widened aperture through which thehead of the animal extends as shown in Fig. 1. As shown most clearly in Fig. 8 the pivots 21 of each pair of yoke levers are offset laterally beyond the center of gravity of the latter so that the upper ends thereof normally tend to move together and so prevent withdrawal of the head of the animal.

Hinged as at 25 to the front rail 10 of the manger frame is a cover member 26 which may be swung to occupy a position resting upon and covering the box 15, or be swung away therefrom, as indicated by the dot and dash lines in F ig. 2. This cover has a series of apertures 27, one for each section, in which may be supported pails 28 containing water, or any food which it is not desirable to place in the box 15. The cover 26 preferably has fixed thereon, between each section and in position to register withrthe upper extensions 16 of the intermediate rear legs, quadrantal partition members 29 which prevent the animal in one section interfering with the food of the animal in the adjacent section.

It is believed the manner of use of my improved manger will be apparent from the above description, it being apparent that Vthe yoke levers 22 may be swung aside to permit of entrance of the head of the animal in the headstall, while the cover may be swung into position or not as may be desired.

Havingthus described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is as follows:

1. A manger comprising a frame, a box supported in said frame, said frame being extended upwardly on one side to form a headstall, said headstall being divided into sections, a cover for said box hinged to said frame and having fixed thereon a plurality CIK i l of quadrantai partitions located in `juxtaposition'to the dividing lines of the sections Y of the headstall.
