siding at Detroit, in the county of Wayne and State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Display-Racks, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawings.

In the use of display cases for clothing and more particularly for mens and boys coats and vests, various devices have been employed wherein a standard carrying two rows of coat forms or hangers can be with drawn from an inclosing cabinet for inspection, and revolved so that either row of coat forms may be brought to the front, but as these rows of forms'are disposed side by side, it has been impracticable up to the present time, to dust off and clean the inner portions or adjacent sides of the two rows of garments, except by removing the hangers one by one, a laborious and tedious process.

This invention relates to a floor cabinet rack for mens and boys clothing, whereby the rack carrying the garments upon their hangers, may be moved out of the cabinet and swung instantlyinto such a position that all parts of the garments are accessible for cleaning, dusting and rearrangement without removing the hangers from the rack.

The invention consists in the matters hereinafter set forth, and more particularly pointed out in the appended claim.

a slide 4 to be moved bodily toward the front or open side of the cabinet which is closed by suitabledoors, and is pivotally mounted, as at 5, to rotate bodily upon said pivot. A pair of transverse end bars 6 and 7 are rigidly secured upon the upper ends of the posts 2 and the extremities of these bars are connected by side rails 8 and 9 constituting parallel hanger supports on which the usual coat forms 10 may be readily supported. Presser members 11 and 12 in the form of depending loops are rigidly secured to the under side of the bars 6 and 7 respectively and prevent garments at the ends of the rails 8 and 9 from pressing against the ends of the cabinet.

Preferably the several parts are of tubular construction, but more particularly the side rails 8 and 9, and these rails are each formed with downturned end portions which are journaled in sockets 13 formed on the ends of the end bars 6 and 7. Each rail is split or divided intermediate its ends into two like parts, being preferably severed obliquely to provide angular abutting ends 14, and a latch which will permit of the sliding of the hangers over the closed joint without trouble, is inclosed within the end of one part of each rod to engage the other part. This latch may be in the form of a spring projected bolt 15 having a handle 16 extending through a slot 17 in the under side of the part of the rail in which the bolt is inserted, whereby it may be retracted against the action of the spring 18, a stop 19- anchoring the inner end of the spring, and the outer end portion of the bolt being tapered as indicated at 20 toread-ily enter the opposed end of the other part of the rail.

In operation, as clearly indicated in Fig. 5, when the frame is drawn bodily to the front of the cabinet, the hanger rail 8, for example, may be unlatched and its two sections swung outwardly, pivoting in the sockets 13, as indicated, so that both sides of the garments on the hangers carried by this rail are free for inspection, dusting and the like. lVhen the parts are swung into alinement and connected by the latch or bolt, they become a rigid continuous member upon which the hangers may be slid from end to end without interference from the joint connecting the parts. By turning the frame on its pivot 5. the companion rail 9 may be brought to the front and because of its pivoted two part construction, may like- Wise be swung outwardly so that all parts of the garments which are hung therefrom become easily accessible without removing the hangers on which they are placed or removing the same one by one from the sup-- porting rail. Thus a great deal of time and labor issaved Without in any Way affecting the rigidity or operation of the structure for ordinary display purposes, While the advantages of the construction over the old type are very great. i

Obviously, changes in the details of con struction may be'made without departing from the spirit of my invention and I do not care" to limit myself to any particular form or arrangement of parts. i
