IMPROVEMENT IN MEDICAL COMPOUNDS FOR CURE OF THE CATARRH.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 135,077, dated January 21, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOSHUA A. CARPENTER, of the village of Waverly, in the county of Tioga and State of New York, have invented a new and valuable Improvement in Oatarrh Cure and I do hereby declare that the following is afull, clear, and exact description of the same.
This invention has relation to a new medical compound for the cure of catarrh; and it consists in the combination of the followingspecified ingredients, in about the proportions given:
REGIPE.Oi1 of tar, ten drops; gum camphor, one ounce; salt, (chloride of sodium,) one-half ounce; glycerine, four ounces; water, four ounces.
Mix oil of tar and gum-camphor, and dissolve in salt and water. Then add water and glycerine. To be applied by means of a nasal douche, and also used as a gargle in the throat.
Having fully described my invention, What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The ingredients herein specified, combined substantially in the manner and about the proportions set forth.
