My invention relatesto an improvement in shelf reachers, and it consists" in certain details of construction tobe more fully set forth in the following specification.

The device comprises the pole or other like support 1, which may be of any length required, having the extension 2 secured in its upper end, and terminating in the supporting hook portion 3. 4 are aws whose shanks 56, links 7 8, and rivets 910 and 11, form part of a toggle-arm.

When using the device to remove an article from an upper shelf, the lower handle 17 is first depressed, Fig. 2, to bring the jaws in contact with the article, Fig. 3. Having thus described my invention, what I claim is:
