Be it known that'I, HERBER WV. Jnsrnn,

a citizen of the United States, residing at Dallas, in the county of Dallas and State-of Texas, have invented. certain new and useful Improvements in Churning Devices, of which the followingis a specification.

This invention relates to new and useful improvements in churning devices.

The invention has particularly to do with that type in which a carrieris suspended between coiled springs, and supports a churning receptacle;the churning being effected by vibrating'the carrier andrecipro eating the receptacle. a

The object of the invention is to so fasten the receptacle in the carrier that its cover may be removed without disturbingthe can or loosening the receptacle in. the-carrier; andat the same time secure thecover on the receptacle so that the contents will not splash or leakout..- 1 Y r A stillfurther object is to provide a means of the fastening of the "receptacle in the carrier whereby the receptaclernay be quickly, easily and simply fastened in the carrier or freed from the same; and to do so with a structure involving a minimum number of parts, all of which are attached either to the carrier or receptacle so as not to be likely to et lost or misplaced and to lend to the simple, convenient and eflicient operation of the device.

The invention will be more readily understood from a reading of the following specification and by reference to the accompanying drawings, in which an example of the invention is shown, and wherein:

In the drawings the numeral designates a U-shaped jaw or cradle having a base bar 11 at the center of its bottom, spaced equidistantly on each side thereof and at right angles to said cradle. At its rear end the bar has an upturned stop 12. Near the middle of the cradle a semicircular guard band.

The can projects above the cradle and at substantially right angles to its handles has outwardly directed keepers 27. These keep ers are notched and have lips 31 on their undersides and rigidly secured to the can, Bosses 28 are firmly mounted at the upper ends of the cradle and this structure may be suitably formed. Eccentric levers 29 are pivoted to the bosses and each has an outwardly directed cam flange 30 adapted to ride into the notch of the adjacent keeper and engage over the lip 31 (Fig. 5) of said keeper. It will be seen that by swinging the levers upwardly the flanges 30 will ride over the lips 31 and owing to their eccentric mounting, said flanges will tend to draw the attached to the canand the cradle.
