To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JOHN Moonn MoGnAY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Pueblo, in the county of Pueblo and State of Colorado, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Shoe-Holders, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to new and useful improvements in holding devices and the primary object of the invention is to provide a simple device for detachably connectlng a pair of shoes or the like so as to keep the shoes properly mated and prevent their misplacement when displayed for sale by retailers. The device is adapted to be run through the upper adjacent eyelets of the shoes, and will securely connect the same but permit them to be easily released when necessary. This holder is also adapted for use by manufacturers in keeping connected the correct pairs of shoes.

Another object of the invention is to provide a device of this character which is easily and simply constructed, inexpensive to manufacture, and one which will be very efficient in operation.

With these and numerous other objects in View, my invention consists of the novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts which will be herein referred to and more particularly pointed out in the specification and claims.

In describing my invention I shall refer to the drawings in which similar reference characters designate corresponding parts throughout the several views.

The device is formed from a single piece of wire which is bent loop shaped interme diate its ends, the loop being designated by the numeral 1, and having its ends disposed adjacent each other, with the ends of the wire projecting oppositely as shown at 2 and 3 but disposed in a single plane. loop 1 and the interengaged ends thereof form the clasping means for connecting the shoes as will be scribed.

This formation will provide the holder with a handle, so as to permit the same to be easily placed in position for use or removed from operative position.

In operation, to connect a pair of shoes, the shoes are held in the left hand, side by side, and the outer end 3 of the holder is run through the eyelet of each shoe and then the holder is turned to the right until the sides of the handle thereof are at the top of the uppers of the shoes as clearly shown in Fig. 1 of the drawings. This will securely connect the shoes and is quicker and better than tying the same with cord, such as is ordinarily done. This device is especially adapted for use to keep the shoes in proper mates while being displayed on sales tables, and from being mixed in the shoe boxes by the clerks when showing the shoes to customers. It is more economical than strings, and is much more efficient for the purpose as the strings become untied and consequently permit the shoes to be mislaid. The offset handle portion of the device permits the same to'be easily removed from operative position, as it is only necessary to grasp the handle, and turn the loop to the left to withdraw the holder from the shoes.

From the foregoing description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, it is thought that a clear and comprehensive understanding of the construction, operation and advantages of my invention may be had, and while I have shown and described the device as embodying a specific structure I desire that it be understood that such changes may be made in said structure as do not depart from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.

Having fully described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

1. A holder of the character described formed from a single length of resilient wire 7 a handle extension and a angle thereto, the end of the wire remote from the handle extension being disposed tangentially to said coil, said bent to provide single coil at an handle extension being disposed laterally at one side of the planeof the coil. 7

2. A holder of the character described formed from a single length of resilent Wire 5 bent to provide a handle extension and a single coil at an angle thereto, the end of the Wire remote from the handle extension being disposed tangentially to said coil, said handle extension being disposed laterally at one side of the plane of the coil, 10 and of substantially looped form.
