backward in the slot 9 so that when the retaining blocks 10 are put in position, said clamp can be moved inward so that the blocks 10 when the clamp is locked will tightly impinge and press against the outside part 26 of the sill, and it will also be noted that through the medium of the slot 20 the small clamp 2& can be raised or lowered to fit the thickness of window sills; thus the device is made adjustable to fit window sills of varying widths and thicknesses. When it is desired to remove the attachment the winged nuts are loosened and it can be readily taken out of its position on the window sill, the back folded down, and it may be placed anywhere desired.
It will be noted that this device or attachment is very convenient, highly serviceable and safe for the'operator when cleaning windows.
While I have described one specific con struction and means for carrying out my invention, it will be readily understood that the same may be changed and modified without departing from the principle of my invention and I wish to be understood that such changes and modifications will fall within the scope of my invention.
What I claim as new and my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:
In a window seat attachment, a seat part for resting on the window sill, a foldable back attached thereto, a supporting slotted arm attached to said seat, retaining blocks toward the outward end of said seat part, a clamping device for engaging said slotted arm and for also engaging the sill underneath to tightly clamp the seat on the window frame, said clamping device formed of an angle iron and having one arm extending outward and provided with a clamping means, and also having a slotted arm extending downwardly and provided with an upwardly and downwardly sliding clamp piece and winged nut, all combined and operating as set forth.
