JAMES M. KENNEDY, OF COLUMBUS, OHIO.
BOLTER-SCREEN ATTACHMENT.
Application filed April 9, 1919.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JAMES M. KENNEDY, a citizen of the United States, residing at C0- lumbus, in the county of Franklin and State of Ohio, have invented a new and useful Bolter-Screen Attachment, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to bolters and more particularly to a bolter screen attachment. The main object of the invention is to provide a device for causing material under treatment to be thrown over the entire surface of the bolter.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a plan View of a screen section having my invention applied thereto; Fig. 2 is a sectional view through the screen section; Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the metal bar forming my invention; Fig. 4 is a sectional View thereof; and Fig. 5 illustrates a side elevational View of a bolter screen showing my invention as applied thereto; Fig. 6 illustrates a top plan view of a bolter, the upper cover thereof being removed.
Referring to the drawing in detail, 5 indicates a bolter, the same being shown, in the form of a drum and provided with suitable supporting means, not shown, for sup porting the bolter screens 6, to which my invention is applied.
r'ldjacent the inner end of the frame and positioned above the sieving element 2 is a bar 2 having a substantially fiat portion 3 and a right-angled portion 4:. The rightangled portion 4 extends a suitable distance Specification of Letters Patent.

above the screen element 2 and is arranged at an angle of 30 with relation thereto.
From the foregoing it will be seen that material deposited on the sieve, in its passage thereover, will engage the bar, forming my invention, and due to its inclined position with relation to the sieve, said material will be distributed across the entire surface of the sieve and any possibility of the material collecting adjacent the inner end thereof will be obviated.
While I have shown my invention as applied to a bolter screen having a flat surface, it will of course be understood that the same may be applied to the surface of a curved bolter screen with equally as good results.
lVhat is claimed is 2 In a bolting apparatus, a frame including a relatively long end portion, and a relatively short end portion, a sieving element supported on the frame, a distributing bar including a base, and a right angled portion, said distributing bar being supported on the frame adjacent the relatively short end portion thereof, and said distributing bar being disposed at an angle with relation to the end portions of the frame.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own I have hereto affixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
J AMES M. KENNEDY.
