To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM G. CU'rLER, of Milwaukee, in the county of Milwaukee, in the State of Wisconsin, have invented certain Improvements in Beams or Girders, of which the following is a specification:

My invention is for a beam or girder made of wood, and banded with iron or other material for the purpose of strengthening it, and thus make all such work stronger and lighter.

General Description.
A is the beam or girder, of wood, thirty feet in length, three inches thick, and twelve inches wide. It may be longer or shorter, thicker or It is intended for thinner, wider or narrower.

I claim as my invention- A beam or girder with a band or plate of iron on its under side and running its whole length, and lapping upward over its ends, and secured, as described, so as to give it strength, substantially as set forth.
