UNITED STATES PATENT GEEIGE.
JAMES BAKER, OF KENDALLVIIJLE, INDIANA.
IMPROVEMENT IN EAVESFTROUGHS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 133,] S6, dated November 19, i872.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JAMES R. BAKER, of Kendallville, in the county of Noble and State of Indiana, have invented a new and valuable Improvement in Eaves-Troughs; andl do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawing making a part of this speciiication and to the letters and gure's of reference marked thereon.
Figure l of the drawing is a representation of a plan view of my invention; and Fig. 2 is a sectional view of the same.
My invention has relation to eaves-troughs 5 and it consists in the novel method of arranging and securing the trough-bands to the cross-straps, whereby a flexible band may be secured iirmly to said strap after being passed under the trough, substantially as hereinafter described.
Referring to the drawing, A represents the while the inner ends fall below the inner edge of the trough. F represents the bands, which are riveted at their inner ends to the tops of the straps (l), and are thence bent and carried under the trough, passed over the bead, and pinked77 under the latter, producing eyes Gr, which are then slipped into the eyes of the straps, iilling the same, after which the eyes E are contracted by applying pinchers, and the straps and bands thereby tightened upon the bead. The exible band is thus fastened rigidly to the cross-bar by the pressure of the eye of the latter against the bead.
Vhat I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The eaves-trough bands F, riveted to the straps C, bent under the trough A, provided with eyes G, and slipped into and tightened within the strap-eyes E, which embrace the bead B, substantially as specied.
In testimony that I claim the above I have hereunto subscribed my name in the presence of two witnesses.
JAMES R. BAKER.
Witnesses M. V. B. WALTMAN, H. WAKEMAN.
