Be it known that l, HAROLD P. BROWN, a citizen of the United States, and resident of the borough ot' llanhattan, in the city and State oli' New York, have invented a new and useful Hollow Concrete Vall, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to a hollow wall and the method of constructing it, with the object in view of providing in an expeditious manner, a strong and durable wall free from joints, air and water tight, and a good heat insulator.
My invention lends itself readily to the construction of a monolithic wall, curved, straight, or any other desired torni.

Figure 1 represents in elevation, a portion oi a cylindrical wall, `partly broken away to disclose the metallic reinforcing structure and the removable interior forms.
Fig. 2 is a horizontal section taken in the l plane of the line IT-H of Fig. 1, and
Fig. 3 is a horizontal section or a straight wall.
In constructing the wall, either curved, straight, or other desired r'orm, the reinforcing structure is first set up. This reinforcing structure consists of uprights 1 set up at intervals against or in proximity to a removable exterior plate or back 2, which is oiled to prevent the adhesion ot' concrete. The uprights 1 are conveniently channel iron or rods.

cured thereto an inner series of horizontal rods 6 corresponding to the rods 3. A rigid self-supporting reinforcing structure is thus formed consisting of inner and outer skeleton parts connected by the V-shaped brackets. Diagonal rods 3*, one of which is shown in dotted lines in F ig. 1, are secured to the uprights at or near the upper opposite corners of an opening 13 in the wall r'and eX- tend downwardly and are fastened to the adjacent upright or series of uprights having the brackets t thereon. The opening 13 may be used as a door or window for the structure.
The reinforcing structure as above described having been set up in front of or against the exterior oiled plate or back 2, the primary wall section 7 is formed by jetting concrete or other plastic material against the plate or back 2, embedding the uprights 1 and horizontal reinforcing rods 3. The hinged forms 8 are then set in position between consecutive vertical series of brackets 4, the edges of the Haring sides of the 'forms 8 closely engaging the face of the primary wall 7 and the inner faces of the forms occopying positions in proximity to the upriglits 5, so that the said forms will be spaced from the rods G about the thickness oi the uprights 5.
The forms 8 having` been placed in position and oiled to prevent adhesion of concrete, the secondary wall section 9 and webs 1() are constructed by jetting concrete or other plastic material against the oiled sur- 'lfaces of the forms 8, embedding the brackets 4 and the uprights 5 and rods 6 and adhering to the primary wall at the `apices of the webs 10. The webs 10 having the V- shaped brackets embedded therein, thus unite the primary and secondary wall sections as a single hollow wall. y y
The 'forms 8 are conveniently constructed in knock-down form, in the present instance pins 11 being employed to temporarily lock the sides and front ofthe terms together, thus permitting the forms to be collapsed by withdrawing the pins, and `removing the parts. The forms are made long enough to reach from say the tounoation wall to the level of ceiling of first Hoor. After the wall is poured to that height the forms are removed by taking out the pins from the top, collapsing the forms and taking them also out from the top.
