Referring to the drawing, 1 is the refrigerator portion of the hermeticallysealed container of the refrigerating machine which is connected by a hollow shaft 2 to the condenser ortion of the machine.

The evaporated refrigerant is sucked throughishe bent tube 8 into the central gin amber 1 and drawn through the hollow is in line with the splash from the oil sepzii retor, resmleing in a moist gas being sucked back into the compressor cylinders. In my improved separator, however, the free end oi the tube 8 is so located that this is prevented; and any moisture that may be drawn into the tube is deposited on the Wall of the free leg of this tube 8 and drops back into the i'efrigerator chamber, so the vapor which enters the shaft is comparatively dry.

In a refrigerating machine, the com bination with a rotatable container, of a separator therein comprising a central member, a U-shaped member fastened to said central member and having one end communicating with the interior thereof, a second U- shaped men'lber contained within said first mentioned U-shaped member, having one end extending above the other end of said first mentioned U-shaped member, and havin its other end terminating below the point W ere said first mentioned U-shaped member communicates with said central member, and a collector mounted on the end of said second U-shaped member which extends above the end of said first mentioned U-shaped memher for conveying liquid from ad acent the periphery of' saidcontainer to said second U-shaped member.

In a refrigerating machine, the com-- bination with a rotatable container, of a separator therein comprising a central mem ber, a U-shaped member fastened to said central member and having one end communieating with the interior thereof, a second U- shaped member contained within said" first mentioi'ied U-shaped member, having one end extending above the other end of said first. mentioned U-shaped member, and the other end terminating below the level of said overflow pipe, a collector mounted on the end of said U-shaped member which extends above the end of said first mentioned U-shaped member for conveying liquid from adjacent the periphery of said container to said second U-shaped member, and an oven flow pipe mounted in the side of said first- U-shaped member contained within said first mentioned U-shaped member, having one end extending above the end of said first mentioned U-shaped member and the other end terminating below the level of said overflow pipe, collector mounted on the end of said U-shaped member which extends above the end of said first mentioned U-shaped member for conveying liquid from adjacent the periphery of said container to said second U-shaped member, an overflow pipe mounted in the side of said first mentioned U-shaped member below said central member but at such a height thatasuflicient amount of liquidrefrigerant is trapped therein to raise the level of the lubricant so that it will flow out of the end of said first mentioned U'shaped member communicating with the interior of said central member, and a bent tube mounted on the top of said central member and communicating with the interior thereof for admitting gas thereto.
