provements in Detachable Holders for Battery-Lamps, fully described and represented in the following specification and the accompanying drawings, forming a part of the same.

This invention -consists of an improved means of mounting an electric torch or battery-lamp upon a cap, hat or other object of wearing apparel, so that its user can drect the light upon objects which he wishes to handle.

The device is especially useful to chauffeurs or vother operators of automobiles, as it is often necessary at night to make examination or repairs about the car, and the operator works at a very great disadvantage who -is compelled to hold a light in one hand and use Va tool with the other.

The present invention consists of a 4special construction for the lamp holder, whereby it can be manufactured very cheaply, present a very neat acppearance and hold the lamp securely 'an detacha ly ,upon any part of a garment. to direct its rays to the desired int.

The xture comprises two clips and a. tie-bar made in one piece, 'and having a safety in soldered at each end to hold it detachay upon the garment.

The construction is clearly shown in the annexed drawing, in which Figure 1 is a side elevation of a cap with a battery lamp attached to the top; Fig. 2 is an end view of the device and Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the device.

Where a lamp with cylindrical body is used, it is obvious that a single clip would not hold it with steadiness upon the garment, and the construction therefore provides two such clips, which grip the lamp at different points, and two fasteners which in like manner grasp the garment at two separate points.

We are aware that lamp-holders which grasp the bod at two separate points have been employe but not 1n connection with means for securing the lamp-holder detachably to any part of the clothing at two separate points.

Such means of securing the lamp-holder to the clothing holds it steadily in any position in which it may be secured, and thus prevents the swinging or twisting of the holder upon the clothing, which would interfere with the direction given to the light.

What we claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

A fixture for holdin a battery-lamp directly upon any desire part of a arment, and constructed and operated to old the lamp securely in its adyusted position upon the clothing, the said fixture consisting of two open spring-clips adapted to detachably engage the body of the lamp at separate points, a tie-bar integral with the clips, and a safety pin soldered to the tie-bar under each of the said clips, whereby the lamp is held in clips at two points, and the fixture may be secured to the clothing at two points, to hold it firmly but detachably thereon.
