AwNING-FIXTURE.

To all whom t may concern:

l Be it known that I, ANTHONY F. NUGENT, a citizen of the United States, and a resi dent of the city of New York, borough of Manhattan, in the county and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Awning-Fixture, of which the following 1s a full, clear, and exact description.

-Among the principal objects which the present invention has in view are: to overcome the necessity for employing a stay line; to prevent awnings' from rising and falling; to provide a convenient lock for holding` thev side bars of an awning in service position; and to simplify the construction of fixtures of the character described.

Descrip to/n.

As seen in lthe drawings, an awning having a fabric cover 11 and a bottom frame 12 is provided with guide rods 13. The rods 13 are xedly attached to the window frame by means of socket brackets 14, or other convenient fastenilg members. The frame 12 is held in guided relation to the rods 13 by slides 15. The frame 12 is pivotally connected to the slides 15, by means of pins 16 and pivot sockets 17. Then the sockets 17 are constructed as seen in Figs. 2, 3 and 4 of the drawings, they are provided with extensions 18. The extensions 18 have slotted openings 19, through which keys 20 are passed when itis desired to lock the sockets and parts connected therewith in service position.

In Figs. 5 and 6 of the drawings, :a modified form of the invention is shown. The modication consists in spacing the sides 21 farther apart and at opposite sides of the rods 13, and in elongating the same so that the slots for holding the key 20 are formed in the U-shaped brackets somewhat beyond' drawings, the awning is lowered until the

18 or 25. rlhe keys 20 so disposed prevent the rocking of the sockets 17 and the wabbling ofthe frame 12, though the same is not held by the usual stay-line. The keys 20 also prevent the rise and fall of the socket members 17 and the disagreeable banging of the fixtures.

An awning fixture comprising means for supporting an awning on a house` or other standing structure, a fabric retaining frame, guide rods fixed to the standing structure and adapted to support the frame, a bracket xed to the standing structure, slotted arms formed integrally with the bracket and extended outwardly from the standing structure, a slotted extension member formed on the l awning frame and standingstructure, a fabric retaining frame,

4., An awning fixture comprising a fabric retaining frame, guide rods adapted to be 40 installed 0n a building to support the retaining frame, a U-shaped bracketl with ,extended arms having slotted openings formed in the arms, an extension arm provided on the fabric frame having a slot formed` therein to register with the slot of the bracket, and av locking key to be passed through the registered slots of the slotted members for locking the frame in relation to the arms, and a key retaining means upon the ixture and permitting said key to be passed through the registered slotsas aforesaid.
