Description
D. HARTIG.
SADIRON SUPPORT.
APPLICATION FILED SEPT- I0. IQII.
M 9 g H mm ff?? 1 w Patented Sept, 16, 1919.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE- DORA HARTIG, OF SOOKIE, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA.
SADIRON-SUIEPORT.
Application filed September 10, 1917.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, DORA HARTIG, a citizen of the United States, residing at Sooke, British Columbia, Canada, have invented new and useful Improvements in Sadiron- Supports, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings and letters of reference marked thereon.
The objects of my invention are to provide a convenient and inexpensive support for sad-irons, which may be easily attached to a table or shelf and readily removed there from, and in which the support is on a level with the table and with which the iron may be readily moved to the support without being lifted.
I accomplish my invention by the construction herein shown.
In the accompanying drawings in which like letters of reference indicate like parts.
Figure 1 is a side elevation, showing my device mounted upon an ironing board, and
Fig. 2 is a perspective View of the same.
I prefer that the device be made of cast iron, shaped substantially as shown'in the drawings.
The construction will be readily understood on reference to the drawings in connection herewith, the over-hanging engaging members 0 are of sufficient area to give large bearing on the shelf or table to which the device is attached and are shaped on the upper surface at an incline, so that if desired the sad-iron need not be lifted bodily in order to reach the body portion a, but the iron may be slid toward the part a and will ride up the incline on the parts a and thence to the receiving portion a of the device.
Specification of Letters Patent.
,ing it.
Patented Sept. 16, 1919.
Serial N0. 190,487.
The bracket b is formed integral with the body a and with the part (Z. The part d is provided with a threaded opening through which is passed a set screw e, for firmly se-:
curing the device in place.
The upper portion of the set screw is pro vided with a bearing plate f, which is of large area and which in conjunction with the parts 0 give a firm bearing on the table or shelf to which the device is attached and because of the large area prevents danger of abrasion.
The floor or body a is preferably provided with openings to lighten it and is also provided with raised edges or ribs 9, h and 25 while the front is left without a guard so that the iron may be moved out without lift- The bearing plate 7 is pivotally attached to the clamping screw 0 and is preferably of large area so as to give a large and firm hearing against the table or shelf and while avoiding danger of marring will firmly hold the support in place.
Having therefore described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters-Patent is:
A flat iron holder, comprising a, polygonal supporting plate having marginal upstanding ribs, one of said ribs formed on its upper edge" with integral spaced horizontally disposed wedge shaped bearing members, and the lower surface of said plate provided with a centrally disposed horlzontal arm arranged below and spaced from said bearing members, and provided with a clamping screw.
