Be it known that 1, FRED J. WARD, a citizen of the United States, residing at Lon Beach, in the county of Los Angeles an State of California, have invented new and useful Improvements in Gas Burners, of `which the following is a specification.
My inrention relates to gas burners .and consists vof the novel featuresherein shown, described and claimed.

Referring to Figs. 1 and 2,- the gas pipe 1 is screwed into the lower end of an elbow 2, a nipple 3 is screwed down into the elbow 2, and an orifice 4 is screwed upon the nipple 3. The orifice 4 has a hexagon head 5 formthe burner. The supporting crosspiece 6 has a `central opening to lit the orifice 4 above the head 5, and a straight annular wall 7 -is the ends of the crossformed integral with piece 6, there being air passages 8 and 9 through the wall at the sides of the crosspiece. The tapered annular wall 10 extends annular wall 7, the straight neck 11 extends upwardly from the tapered annular wa'll '10, and .the burner screen base 12 extends outwardly from the upper end of the neck 11, there being an annular flange 13 extendipgupwardly t-he base 12 ynear its outer edge, thus producing a shoulder 14 outside of the flange 13.' Referring to Fig. 3, the neck 24 is elongated and curved'to a right angle, so that the inlet is horizontal and a shutter 25 is `placed in position to regulatethe openings around the orifice 26. The shutter 25 is held in place'by a screw 27 inserted through a slot in into the supporting crosspiece 28. The burner lhead 29 is identical with that shown in ,-Figs. 1 and 2.
