To all whom may concern:
Be it known that We, Gnome DAVIDSQN and HENRY C. Doc'ron, citizens of the United States of iiineriai-a, and residents of Fort "Wayne, in the county of Allen and State oi Indiana, have invented certain new and useiul improvements in i initted Fabric Bodies, of which the following is e specification,
This invention relates to improvements in knitted fabric bodies intended for making garments, and the object thereoi is to form. the body of severai sections composed of (iifi'erently formed stitches in such manner that transferring of the work from one knitting machine to another will he obviated, and siso to complete the body in such manner that unraveling at the iinisheci enci, as well as at the junctures oi the different sections, will he obviated.
The objects of the invention. are ace-emplished by the construction iiinstretezi in the accompanying drawings in which Figure 1 is e front View oi? a knitted hociy showing the invention; and
Fig. 2 is longitudinal section Fig. 1, and similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in bo h views.
The body may be either tnhuiar or in form acre-Ming to the use which it is in tended. in either event, however, the body is formed in substantieiiy the same manner and consists of a series of sections, A, E and C arranged in successive order aniteei with each other their aiijace ends, and at each end of the bony is a corresponding Weit D and i in making the hoiiy the we knitted and is formed in the on nary rennei', and likewise the section A knitted and fashioned with '(iouhie stitches that ribs are formed in the manner veil known in the art. The section A. may he oi? suitable length or breadth or diameter, ii hen the section ii. has eompieteii the section 15$, which is made with stitches, is formed, the stitches on one side 01? the body are continued ior one or courses, and in making the same it fniiing, felting or fleecing yarn is employed, anei the stitches upon the opposite side of the body are tomporariiy disoontinneei until? the said one or several courses eoinpietem Then the section B is formed}. by a men stitches upon the opposite side of the iGQtU and continuing the same until the Cieei length of the section is inse ie, )3?
