Be it known that I, JOHN VAN Drnn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Kalamazoo, Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Gas-Stoves, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in gas stoves. I
The main objects of this invention are:
First, to provide a gas stove which is adapted to be mounted. on a wall or like support and is rigidly supported, and the wall or like support effectively protected from the heat of the stove'and also from spatterings from the articles cooked.
Second, to provide animproved gas stove which is simple and economical in structure and at the same time attractive in appearance.
Further objects, and objects relating to structural details, will definitely appear from the detailed description to! follow.
I accomplish the'objects of my invention bythe devices and means described in the following specification. The invention is clearly defined and pointed out in the claims.
A structure whichis a preferred embodiment of my invention is clearly illustrated in the accompanying drawing forming a part of this specification, in which:

In the drawing, similar reference characters refer to similar parts throughout the several views, and the sectional views are taken looking in the direction of the little arrows at the ends of the section lines.
Referring to the drawing, 1 represents a wall or like support on which my improved stove is mounted. I provide a combination body and wall shield member 2 which is formed with a series of angles or steps. The body memberis preferably formed of sheet metal, which may be readily enameled or finished as desired. The body is provided with a top horizontal portion 3 to which the wall attaching brackets 4: are secured by means of the stove bolts 5. These wall attachingbrackets are angled, their horizontal legs being arranged under the top portion 3. The vertical legs of the bracket are adapted to receive attaching screws 6.
In the structure shown in Fig. I, I provide a pair of grid members 7 having rearwardly projecting attaching brackets 8 which are lapped uponand secured to the intermediate portion9' of the body member. The burners 10 are secured upon the under side of these grid members. The burner members are provided with oppositely disposed burner tubes 11 of the Bunsen type having inlet openings 12 and control valves 13. The burner tubes are connected by the T-coupling 14:. The gas delivery pipe 15 is connected to this .T-coupling 14 and has a T-coupling 16 therein to which the gas supply pipe 17 is connected. At its lower end the gas delivery pipe 15 is provided with a wall attaching socketed plate18 so that the delivery pipe serves as a supporting bracket or face for the stove. The body members 3, in the structures illustrated in Fig. I, are provided with pan members 19 projecting from their lower edge, the pan members being spaced so that the pipe 15 may be disposed therebetween.
V but a single burner is provided. The gas delivery pipe 15 in this construction is connected directly to the burner'tube, that is, the coupling 11 is omitted. The valve 20 is mounted on the wall and the fuel supply pipe 21 leads therefrom to the coupling 16.

structure when mounted is rigid, and secure and neat and attractive in appearance, the body member not only constitutes a support for the grids and burners but serves as a shield to protect the wall from heat from the burner and also to a large degree from spatterings from articles cooked. The parts of my improved gas stove are simple and economical to produce and are readily assembled. 7
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:
1. In a gas stove, the combination of a stepped body and wall shield member having spaced pan portions projecting from its lower edge, wall attaching brackets secured to the top portion of said body member, a pair of grid members provided with attaching brackets secured to an intermediate por; tion 01? said body member so that said grid members are supported in a spaced relation above said pan members, a pair of burners secured on the under side of said grid members and having opposed burner tubes, a T- coupling connecting the adjacent ends of said burner tubes, and a rearwardly inclined gas delivery pipe disposed between said pan members and connected to said T-coupling, said delivery pipe being provided with a T-coupling't'or a gas supply pipeconnection and with a wall attaching plate at its lower end so that when mounted on the wall the gas delivery pipe constitutes a supporting brace.
2. In a gas stove, the combination of a stepped body and wall shield member, wall attaching brackets secured to thetop portion of said body member, apair of grid members provided with attaching brackets secured to an intermediate portion. of said body member, a pair of burners secured on the under sides of said grid members and havingopposed burner tubes, a T-coupling connecting the adjacent ends of said burner tubes, and a 'rearwardly inclined gas delivery pipe connected to said T-coupling, said delivery pipebeing provided with a T-coupling for a gas supply pipe connection and with a wall attaching plate at its lower end sothat when the stove is mounted on the wall the gas delivery pipe constitutes a supporting brace.
3. In a gas stove, the combination of a stepped body and wall shield member having spaced pan portions projecting from its lower edge, wall attaching brackets secured to the top portion of said body member, a pair of rid members provided with attachingbrac ets secured to an intermediate portion of said body member so that said grid members are supported in a spaced relation above said pan members, a pairof burners secured on the under sides of said grid members and having opposed burner tubes, a T-coupling connecting theadjacentends of said burner tubes, and a gas delivery pipe connected to said coupling.
4:. 1n algae-stove, the combination of a sheet'metal body and wall shield member having spaced pan portions projectingtrom its lower edge, and provided with wall attaching means, a pair of gridmembers secured to anintermediate portion of'said body member so that said grid members are supported in a spaced relation above said pan members, a'pair of burners secured on the under side of said grid members and having opposed burner tubes, a T-coupling connecting the adjacent ends or" saidvburner tubes, and a rearwardly inclined gas delivery pipe disposed between said pan mem-- bers and connected to said T-coupling, said delivery pipe being provided with a T-coupling for a gas supply pipe connection and with a wall attaching plate at its lower end so that when the stove is mounted on the wall the gas delivery pipe constitutes a sup porting brace.
5. In a gas stove, the combination of a sheet metal body and wall shield member provided with wall attaching means, a pair of grid members secured to an intermediate portion or said body member, a pair of burners secured on the under sides of said grid members and having opposed burner tubes, a Tcoupling connecting the adjacent ends of said burner tubes, and a rearwardly inclined gas delivery pipe connected to said Tcoupling, said delivery pipe being provided with a T-coupling for a gas supply pipe connection and with a wall attaching plate at its lower end so that when the stove is mounted on the wall the gas delivery pipe constitutes a supporting brace.
6. In a gas stove, the combination of asheet metal body and wall shield member having spaced pan portions projecting from its lower edge, and provided with wall attaching means, gridmembers secured to an intermediate portion of said body member so that said grid members are supported in a spaced relation above said pan members, burners secured on the under side of said grid members, and a gas delivery eonnection 100 for the burners disposed between said pan members.
7. In a gas stove, the combination of a stepped body member having a pan portion projecting fromits'lower edge, a wall at- 105 taching bracket secured to the top portion of said body member, a grid member provided with an attaching bracket secured to an intermediate portion of said body member so that said grid member is supported. in a 110 spacedrelation above said pan member, a burner secured on the under side-of said grid member, and a gas delivery pipe connected to said burner and constitutinga supporting brace.
8. In a gas stove, the combinationof a stepped body member, a wall attaching bracket secured to the top portion of said body member, a grid member-provided with an attaching bracket secured to an interme- 120 diate portion of said body member, a burner secured on the under side of said grid member, and a gas delivery-pipe connected to said burner and constitutinga supporting brace.
9. Ina gas stove, the combination of. a sheet metalbody member having a pan portion projecting from its lower edge and pro vided with a support attaching. means, a grid member secured to an intermediate por- 130 tion of said body member so that said grid member is supported in a spaced relation above said pan, a burner secured on the under side of said grid member, and a gas delivery pipe connected to said burner and constituting a supporting brace.
10.
