clear, anderact description.
ong the principal objects which the present invention has in view are: to provide simple means for preventing failure of the meeting ends of a collar to hold the collar firmly; to avoid marring the esed surfaces of thecollar where it is gripped by the bar; and to provide means for holding a necktie in proper position.
Drawings.
Figure l is a perspective view of a collar bar constructed and arranged in accordance with the present invention, the same being shown in conjunction with end fraents of a soft collar;
l ig 2 is a top edge view of the same, the
collar ends being shown in section;
Fig. 3 is a front view of the .bar, the end fragments of the cover member of the bar to expose the gripping surface of the inner member of the bar.
Description.
As seen in the drawings, the collar bar has two sections indicated in the drawings 9. The said sectionsavoid the necessity for terial of the collar by the corresponding pressure ends of the section 8. The grip of tpecitlcatlon of Letters Patent. 4 Patented f et; T tutu the bar on the collar is augmented by'the roughened surfaces and whatever wear there is to the fabric occasioned by the roughened surfaces is at the back or in the side of the collar, and therefore less objectionable than if the abrasion occurred at the outside of the collar.
The bar is provided at the middle there- .of with a pin hook 12. The hook 12 has a sharpened point adapted for insertion into the fabric of the tie. The purpose of the hook is to support the tie, and thereby tightening thev tie.
Also by supporting the tie adjacent the bottom of the head or. knot, the top of the head or knot is thrown forward in a more graceful position than if drawn to a tight grip of the neck.

1. A collar bar comprising two resilient bifurcated ends adapted for grippln therebetween the adjacent end sections a col- Ilar; means mounted on one member of said bifurcated ends for frictionally engaging the collar at the inner surface thereof; and
i means permanently attached to said bar for supportin the weight of a necktie.
2. A co lar bar comprising two resilient bifurcated ends adapted for gripping therebetween the adjacent end sections of a collar; means mounted on one member of said bifurcated ends for frictionally engagin the collar at the inner surface thereof; an mean-s permanently attached to said bar for supporting the weight of a necktie, said means embodying an upturned pin hook having a pointed end for penetrating the fabric of the tie.
