To all whom 'it may concern:

Be it known that I, HARVEY B. REPPETTO, a citizen of the United States of America, and resident of l/Vheeling, county of `Ohio, and State of Vest Virginia, have invented certain new and useful Improvement-s in Oil-Heating Stoves, of which the following is a specification. I

This invention relates specifically to oil heaters, and it has for its primary object to provide an oil-burning heating stove which is particularly adapted for use in heating the rooms of buildings.

A further object is to provide a simple, economical and comparatively inexpensive form of oil heater which requires but little and infrequent attention on the part of the user; which is so constructed that the heatgenerating parts thereof may be conveniently removed from within the heater casing, as for cleansing, filling with oil, lighting and extinguishing, and which is particularly efficient as a heat generator.

In describing the invention in detail, reference is herein had to the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure lis a perspective view of the invention, and- Fig. 2 is a partial vertical section of the same.

Referring to said drawings, in which like designating characters distinguish like parts throughout the several views- 1 indicates a stove casing of a type which is more or less common in gas stoves, the same being preferably composed of sheet metal and having a general rectangular form. Said casing has an open front, and disposed within said casing on the plane of the lower end of the opening in its front is a horizontal shelf 2 which serves as a rest or support for a sheet-metal oil container or tank 3. Said tank is of shallow boxlike form and carries upon its top in alined relation a plurality of upright circular neck members d each of which encircles an opening 5 in said top. Said neck members are adapted to receive in seated relation thereto lamp burners 6 carrying wicks 7 which depend into the tank 3 through the openings 5. Said lamp burners are designed to removably support thereon glass lamp chimneys 8, as shown.

The tank 3 is slidably mounted upon the shelf 2 and normally occupies a position in Specification of Letters Patent.

which its front face is substantially ush with, or lies in the plane of, the front part of the casing. As shown in the drawings, lateral flanges 9 and a downwardly extending flange l0 is provided on the outer end of the tank, such ianges being adapted to engage the front of the casing for limiting the extent of inward movement of the tank. Such flanges may be dispensed with, however, and a suitable stop-flange, as ll, provided upon the shelf 2 at the proper distance from its front end.

The tank may be moved outward, or with* drawn, to any extent desired in themanner of a drawer, a suitable pull-handle l2 being mounted on the front wall, or face, thereof to facilitate such withdrawal and the return of the tank to its normal position.

Suitably mounted within the rear part of the casing is an inclined sheet-metal heat reflector 13 which may be of a common stepped form. Said reector terminates at its lower end in' approximately the plane'of the top of the tank-receiving space so that it will closely overlie the tank, as shown in Fig. 2.

The neck members 4L upon which the lamp burners 6 are carried are located forward of the center line of the tank so that the lower end of said refiector 18 may occupy a position midway or slightly in 'advance of the center transverse line of the casing, as shown.

In the normal position of the tank the lamp burners are located within the casing with the tops of the chimneys 8 disposed below the top of the casing suoli a distance that draft through said chimneys is not unduly interfered with. When it is desired to light or extinguish the lamps, the tank is withdrawn to the extent that the chimneys are disposed outside the front of the casing, in which position said chimneys may be removed and replaced without hindrance. Or, when a thorough cleansing of the heater is to be performed, the tank may be wholly removed from the casing.

A suitable cap-covered filler opening 14 is provided in the tank at a readily accessible point.

What is claimed is- 1. p An oil heating stove comprising a stove casing having an open front, an oil container of drawer-like form disposed within the lower part of said casing, a plurality of lamp burners carried by said container, chimneys carried by said burners with their upper ends in close proximity to the top oi' said casing, said container with its superposed burners and chimneys being bodily slidable through said open front to and from an inclosed constantly-exposed position within said casing, and a heat reector mounted within the rear part of said casing, said reflector being downwardly and forwardly inclined and terminating at its lower end in close proximity to the plane of the top oi Said container so that the latter is slidable thereunder, said lower end being also disposed adjacent to the position of the burners when the container occupies its normal inclosed position, so that approximately all ot' said container located rearward of said burners is thereby concealed.

2. An oil heating stove comprising a stove casing having an open front, an oil container, a support for said container located in an elevated position within the lower part of said casing, said container being of drawer-like form and having horizontal drawer-like sliding movement on said sup port, a plurality ot lamp burners carried by said container, glass chimneys carried by said burners, the upper ends of said chim neys being located in close proximity to the incassi top of the casing, and a heat reflector xed within said casing and having its lower end disposed in a position wherein it overlies said container both when the latter is in its operative position and in an outwardly moved position in which the burners occupy withdrawn chimney-uncovered position and preventing tilting of said container when the latter occupies said outwardly moved position.

8. An oil heating stove comprising a shallow drawer-like oil container, a plurality of lamp burners carried by said container, chimneys carried by said burners, and a stove casing inclosing said parts, said casing having an open front through which said fjarts are bodily movable to and from inclosed osition wherein the upper ends of said chimneys closely approach'the top of the casing, and inclined heat reflecting means having its lower lend normally overlying said container adjacent to and rearward of said burners.
