The invention further consists in the features and details of construction which will 'be hereafter more fully set forth in the specication and claims. fixedly receptacles 10, 12, 14, and 16 are preferably adapted to enter and be retained in suitable recesses formed in the base 24, as illustrated for instance'in Fig. 2, wherein recesses 26 are shown.

Receptacles 10 aiid'12 are placed opposite to each other and are provided with stoppers 28 and 30 respectively, suspended upon lever arms 32 and 34, pivoted on vertical support 22 at 36 and drawn downward by the springs 38, clearly shown in Fig. 1. When the operator wishes to remove one of the bottles', as 10, he takes hold of the stopper device 28 and elevates it slightly against the action of the adjacent spring 38 until the stopper clears the top of the bottle, whereupon he can remove thebottle lO'for use in the ordinary way. To reinsert the bottle 10 in the caster, a reversal of the operation just described is carried out.

The central post 22, heretofore described, is surmounted by a convenienty handle 40 within which reposes a push button 42 adapted by mechanism forming no part of this invention and therefore notshown, to,-

The salt and pepper receptacles 14 and 16 are normally covered and held in place in the caster by suitable cover members 50 and 52, pivoted at suitable points 54 and 56 adjacent to the central post 22, these covers being held down upon the receptacles 14 and 1-6 by suitable springs 58 and 60, provided for the purpose.

Similarly, the receptacles 18 and 20 are provided with suitable covers 62 and 64, pivoted at 66 and 68 respectively and springurged into place by suitable springs 70, provided for the purpose. Each of the four covers enumerated in this and the preceding paragraph can be separately elevated against the action of its controlling spring, as'the operator desires, so that he may remove either one of the receptacles 14 or 16, or he may reach into either one of the receptacles 18 or 20.

When casters of this type are'used in public places, one each on a plurality of tables, and awaiter or other employee is required to recharge the contents of all of the receptacles, it is a great convenience for him to be able to simultaneously automatically raise from a suitable base plate 24.
