DENTAL-FILM-DRYING APPARATUS.
Specification of Ietters Patent.
Patented Jan. 21, 1919.
Application filed March 8, 1918. Serial No. 221,314.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN L. GARRE'rsoN, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city of Buffalo, county of Erie, and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Dental-Filnr Drying Apparatus, of which the following is a specification.
The object of my invention is to provide a simple and eificient device which will dry a dental film in a very short period of time, and do so without injury. This object is accomplished by my invention, one embodiment of which is hereinafter particularly set forth.
For a more particular description of my invention, reference is .to be had to the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a front elevation of one embodiment of my invention, and
Figs. 2, 3 and 4 are sectional views taken on the lines, 22, 3-3, and 14 of Fig. 1.
Throughout the various views of the drawings, similar reference characters designate similar parts.
My improved device 1 consists of a fan blade 2, or similar device, on which is mounted a shoulder 3 against which a film 4 is adapted to rest at its outer end while its sides are between guides 5 and its inner end Copies of this patent may be obtained for five cents each, by addressing the under a bar 6 secured to the blade in any suitable Way.
When in this position the film 4 is r0- tated about the axis of the fan, of which the blade 2 is a part, and dried both by centrifugal force and fresh air. The emulsion face of the film at is exposed and away from the blade 2, and this film 4 is soon dried and may then be removed.
While I have shown and described one embodiment of my invention, it is obvious that it is not restricted thereto, but is broad enough to cover all structures that come within the scope of the annexed claims.
What I claim is:
1. A rotating plate with means thereon for holding three edges of a dental film, whereby the film is held in a suitable position for drying while the plate is rotated at a high speed.
2. In a device of the class described, a rotatable plate with a shoulder in combination with guides and a bar thereon for bold ing a dental film so that when the plate is rotated, the film will be dried.
Signed at the city of Buffalo, county of Erie, and State of New York, this 4th day of March, 1918.
JOHN L. GARRETSON.
