Be it known that I, DAVID BRANDT, a subject of the Emperor of Austria, residing at N ew York, county of Bronx and State ot VNew York, have invented new and useful The invention is designed to provide means for leading the waste liquid mixed with the peels from the paring machine to the container and into the foraniinat-ed receptacle from which the liquid is drawn off, and the parings er heavy matter remain.
The novel features of the invention are more fully described in the following speciiication and claims and illustrated in the' accompanying dra wing in which Figure 1 represents a sectional side elevation showing the container connected to a paring machine.

ln this drawing is shown a vegetable par ing machine havingl a cylinder 5 with a water inlet 6 and a. plate 7 arranged in the cylinder. The plate is provided with a top abraded or rough surface. and rotary motion is transmitted to the plate by means of an electric motor 8 secured to the machine. The vegetables when scoured of their coats by the rotation of the plate, can be transferred trom the cylinder by a chute 9 controlled by a gate 10 slidingly mounted on the wall of the cylinder; the foregoing parts of the machine are well known and need no further description.
rlhe container 11 has a cover 12 and is equipped with an inlet pipe 13 leading into the upper portion of the container. This pipe is connected to the cylinder 5 and when a valve 14 is opened, the parings from the vegetables and the waste liquid will iiow into the container. A pipe 15 governed by a valve 16 leads the waste liquid from the container. This pipe can be connected to a drain or sewer for leading oli the foul water.

In the container is arranged a wire receptacle or cage 17 having a handle 18 for lifting the receptacle out of the container. At the upper part ofthe side portion of the wire receptacle is located an elongated opening 19. By placing the opening adjacent to the inlet pipe 13 the ret'use from the cylinder is dropped into the wire receptacle. The side wall 20 or' the wire receptacle oppoiite the opening is depressed so as to form a space 21 between the wall ot' the outer' container and the wire receptacle. The other walls of the wire receptaclet snugly into the container.
The space 21 between the container and receptacle permits any of the liquid in the receptacle to be drawn oil'l through the outlet pipe. The sides and top of the receptacle are constructed of somewhat line wire mesh with small interstices, so that the light liquid will flow oft continuously through the outlet pipe, and the heavy residue otpeelings miXed with liquid will remain in the rece tacle and cloe'OinO' of the drain )i ne is Cb t: l

This receptacle can be lifted ont of the container 11 by removing the cover 12 and the contents remaining in the receptacle are poured out of the elongated opening. It will be seen that when the receptacle is slid into the container 17, the outer rim adjacent to the depressed wall will Contact with the inner side ot the container to give the receptacle a snug lit.
I claim 1. A receptacle comprising a container having a cover. an inlet and an outlet pipe connected to the container; combined with a perforated portable cage including a top, bottom and sides to slidingly fit into the container, one ot the sides having an elongated opening adjacent to the inlet, and a depressed side opposite the opening to form a space at the outlet.
