To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that LCHARLES A. SAND- QUIST, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Liquid-Sprayers, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements in spraying devices for faucets and more particularly to devices of this class intended primarily for use on beer faucets. One object of the invention is to supply means whereby a foam or bead may be formed upon the liquid or beer as it runs from the faucet into the receptacle to be filled; another object is to accomplish the process just recited with the minimum air pressure. A further object is to provide a sprayer of this class that is simple in construction, eflicient in operation and cheap to manufacture.

W ith the foregoing and other objects in view the invention consists in the combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter fully described in the following specification, pointed out in the appended claims and illustrated in the accompanying drawing which forms a part of said specification and in which Figure 1 is a side elevation of a faucet provided with my improved sprayer.

Fig. 2 is a front view of the same, part of the faucet being cut away to afi'ord a clearer illustration.

Fig. 3 is a front view of a slightly modified form of my sprayer.

Fig. i is a similar view of a further modified form.

The reference numeral 1 denotes a faucet of ordinary construction provided with a to spray the beer. The bit (Fig. 2) is formed of a single piece of wire, the ends of which are curved as at 8 and are carried by the

5, 5 and which extend into the mouth of the faucet and are there curved spirally to form an obstruction to break and spray the solid stream of beer as it passes through the mouth of the faucet.

In Fig. 3 the body portion of the bit 6 is bent or curved to form a plurality of approximately U-shaped sides 7 which converge toward the top, the base of the U- shaped portions being alternately inverted; and the material forming said U-shaped sides passing between said sides as shown in Fig. 3. to form a breaker for the liquid passing between said sides; the effect of this shaped bit upon the stream of beer being the same as a wedge.

Fig. t illustrates a further modification of the bit. One of the ends of the same is bent to'form the undulating curved portions 8 which merge into the U-shaped portions whose bases 9, 9, 9*, 9, 9, 9 9, are alternately inverted, one side of the U-shaped portion whose base is 9 being merged into the other end of the bit. The transverse diameter of this bit being nearly or quite the same at one end of the bit as at the other. This type of bit will almost fill the mouth of the faucet and will divide and spray the stream as will be readily understood.

What is claimed is:

1. In a liquid sprayer, a yoke, a bit formed of a single piece of resilient material bent to form a plurality of U-shaped sides whose bases are alternately inverted with respect to each other, said bit converging from one of its ends toward its opposite end and a portion of the bit forming material passing between the said U-shaped sides to form a breaker for the liquid passing between said sides, and flexible supports for said bit connecting the same and said yoke.

2.
