Be it known thatwe, THOMAS ALEXANDER BOYD, I-IAnoLD lARTHUR BOYD, Vand JAMES BOYD, all subjects-Of King George of Great Britain'an'd Ireland, residents of Shettleston Iron Works, Glasgow, Scotland, have invented `a certain new and useful Improvement in Doifing Mechanism, of which the following is a specification. According to 'this invention which refers to doiiing` mechanism `in `flier frames for spinning, twisting and the like, La bobbin carrier is used which is adapted Vtoreceive and carry an empty bobbin tothe center of the Spinning spindle and also to pushthe full bobbin` which hasbeen doffed vfrom the-Said Spinning spindle-clear of the same. The bobbin 'carriers-referred to in some casesareinounted behind the Spindle so astopush the full bobbins to `the front Side, lof the frame andthey are so arranged as toy be capable ofb'eing movedY toa position below and in front of the spindles to enable the worker to place the empty bobbin in the said carrier.l In one application of these carriers the bobbin is so held that it may be raised by thev liftingrail on tothe spindle', the carrier thereafter .receding clear4 ofwthe empty bobbin "and spindle; l
Further according to this invention, when the full bobbins are pushed oftl thebuild'en railsby the bobbin carrierthe` bobbins fall between la pair of `blades placed onvthe top* of a bobbinI box and passing from endto end offtheframe.' One :of these-blades'is fixed-along theback top `edge of the bobbin box. The other blade is carried on a set of levers adapted-to move the said blade to the front side of the bobbinbox, thusallowing'space lfor the bobbins to".fall between the two blades. - mea-ns for separating and approaching said supports, anda bobbin dofiing mechanism comprising a carrier arranged behind the spindle and adapted to carry an empty bobbin, means for moving said carrier forward to present the empty bobbin substantially in alinement with the spinning spindle when said supports are separated, and means for moving said carrier toV position beneath said bottom support during the pinning operation to receive an empty bob- 2. In spinning, twisting, and like frames, a spinning spindle and a top support therefor, a bobbin and a bottom support therefor, means for separating and approaching said supports, and a bobbin dofling mechanism comprising a reciprocating member, an arm pivotally mounted thereon behind the spindle and forming a carrier for an empty bobbin, means for advancing said reciproeating member to move said bobbin carrier into substantiall alinementwith the spinrated, and means for swinging said carrier arm dow-n beneath the bottom support to receive an empty bobbin in the retracted position of said reciprocating member.

In spinning, twisting and like frames, a spinning spindle and a fixed top support therefor suspending the spindle from its upper end, a vertically-displaceable, bob-` bin-supporting builder rail and a bobbin doiling mechanism comprising a bobbin carrier arranged behind the spindle and means 'for moving the same forward beneath the i spindle when the builder rail is down to place an empty bobbin thereon and allowing the bobbinto be lifted from the carrier by the rise of the builder rail, substantially as described. t Y

In spinning, twisting and like frames, a bobbin box to receivelled bobbins in combination with doling mechanism, comprising a pair of blades between which the full bobbins pass on doliing, one ofsaid blades being stationary and the other movable, said blades extending' longitudinally of the frame and serving a plurality of, spindles simultanedie, and means for rectilinearly .displacing saidI rack slideto advance the bobbin carrier vuitwo subscribing witnesses.`
