My invention relates to refrigerators `and particularly to refri geratorsadapted for x use in the storing of ice cream-in brick form.,

A specific object of my invention `is to provide a refrigerator by means of which there can be no possibility of access of the ice or salt to the ice cream and which will render it easy to store or remove the bricks.

The annexed drawing and the following description set forth in detail certain means embodying my i invention, the disclosed means, however, constituting but one of varions mechanical forms in which the principle of the invention may be applied.

The illustrated embodiment of` my invention` comprises a main `receptacle `l which is built up outof wood, upright `corner pieces plane indicated by line V---V` vof 2, front"intermediateuprightpieces@ `and `upperandlower transverse pieces t forming thefmainmframe. The spaces betweenthese framecmembers are filled with a suitable in- W sulation 6in the form offintegralslabsof `cork composition or other suitable material. A suitable facing" 7 is secured to the outside of thisvframeand a suitable pedestal Bis so y providedias: shownclearlyiin Figs@` l and2.

The `top of the receptacle is open and providedwith" hinged "door 9 for f closing such opening. The inner space 10 thus formed is lined with a zinc lining 11 made up of plates ysuitably soldered` together. Thiszinc lining,

is open at the top, the said opening registering with the opening of the receptacle, and an angular zinc facing 12 covers theupper edge of the `zinc lining, being secured at the sides by means of suitable nails 13, the upper yportion being held by the upper facing members 14 of the receptacle. A drain pipe liat the bottom projects through the zinc liningand `permits the liquid to` drain off, as will be readily understood, this pipe being connected in any suitable manner to render the connection proof against leakage. u

The frontof the receptacle isprovlded with `an opening 16 and the frontof the zinc lining with a similar opening 17 in register with the said opening 16. Secured, preferably by soldering, to the portlon of the lining adjacent to the opening 17, 1s a rectangular structure 1d` having a front opening registering with the opening 17, the

When for any reason it may be desired to repair the interior lining 11, the'angular strips 12 and 23 may be removed by withdrawing the nails, whereupon the entire lin ing, together with the attached ivallsof the compartment 19,' may be lifted up and out of the receptacle.

Having fully described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is A A refrigerator comprising an inclosing structure having a top opening and a side opening; closures for said openings; an interior lining of sheet metal for said strueture having an opening registering with said top opening; an open sided sheet metal structure secured to said lining with its opening registering with the side opening in said casing, said sheet metal structure projecting Within said lining; a metal facing secured to the top edge of said lining with its upper portion disposed under and secured by the top of the inclosing structure; and a metal lining for the side opening of said inelosing structure, projecting into said sheet metal structure; and secured by side members of said inclosing structure.
