Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 127,560, dated June 4, 1872.

A represents the front round O O, the two side rounds; and B, the rear one. D are metallic corner-pieces, which connect the rear round B with the two side ones, 0 0. Each of these sockets D is curved at (Z on the inside, concaved at d, and provided with the end sockets d 01 The sockets d 01 receive, respectix ely, one tenon of a side round, 0, and one of the rear round B, while the concavity d is made to receive a rear leg of the chair, into a mortise of which the tenon c of the side round fits. This construction imparts great strength and durability to that part of a chair upon which a great strain is constantly brought.
Having thus described all that is necessary to a full understanding of my invention, what I esteem to be new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
