the latch 4piece 26 will be moved by frictional engagement with-the base of the rifle grooves and shifted free of the lever 25 so as to permit of outward movement of the latter into the riile groove, such movement being insuiiicient, however, to permit of ull release of the lock pin 18 from the plungerl.
Thus the projectile passes from the bore of the vgun from which it is fired -with the parts stillin the retracted position, but instantly upon itsnal discharge from the mouth of the gun, lever 25 moves to the fully released position shown in Fig. 1, permittingspring'20 tov thrust lock pin 18 ont- Wardlyforfits full movement, and its release from the plunger 1 5.
