To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, EDWIN S. CRoNK, a citizen of the United States, residing at Sauk Rapids, in the county of Benton and State of Minnesota, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Work- Handling Devices and Supports, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to photography and more particularly to new and useful improvements in work handling devices and supports.

An object of this invention is to provide an improved plate support whereby plates in process of developing will be maintained out of contact with the walls of the tank on contact with any supporting means to any appreciable extent, consequently obviating the danger of scratching or marring of the plate during said process.

A further object of this invention is to provide an improved plate carrying device.

Other objects and advantages will appear from the following detail description and the claim, taken with an inspection of the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a plan view of the blank from which my improved support is formed.

Fig. 2 is a perspective View of the finished plate support.

Fig, 3 is a top plan view of the same.

Similar characters of reference refer to similar parts throughout the several views of the drawings.

Having more particular reference to the improved device, the same comprises a blank of suitable material designated 6, one end of which is reduced to form a combined handle and rest, the lower portion of which is enlarged as at 7. A plurality of incisions 8 are made in the lower marginal portions of the enlargement 7, thus forming tongues gen erally indicated by the numeral 9, which tongues are bent alternately in relatively opposite directions as shown in the Fig. 3 to provide supporting feet. The upper end 10 of the blank 6 provides, as above stated, a combined handle and rest, whereby to facilitate transporting of the device and the supporting of the sensitized plates in proper positions during the developing process, in the manner hereinafter described. The incisions 8 extend, preferably, to such a point as to not materially weaken the enlargement 7 but leave the greater portion thereof to extend vertically in the finished article.

In use, the sensitized plates to be developed are placed on the supporting device 5. The lower marginal portions of the plates, obviously, rest upon the feet 9, while the combined handle and rest serve as means for supporting the upper portion of the same. The plates and the support are now placed in the developing fluid containing tanks for developing.

From the above description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, it is thought that a clear and comprehensive understanding of the construction, operation, and advantages of my invention may be had, and while I have shown and described my invention as embodyinga specific structure, I desire that it be understood that I may make such changes on said structure as do not depart from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.

What I claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

In a device of the character described, a body portion having a handle formed thereon, and a plurality of alternately arranged laterally extending feet formed on the lower marginal portion of the body.
