l SHEETS-SHEET 2.
Arr muy into a car tank or drawn for other purposes.
I also provide the outlet pipes with control valves 17-17, which are contained within the base housing and which are accessible through openings 18--18 in oppo site sides of the base, the said openings be-` f ing closed by a door 19, slidably mounted within the base housing and adapted to move horizontally between keeper `plates 20-20 attached to the base and having flanges .21 offset therefrom to receive the upper and lower edges of the sliding vdoor to retain thelatter in functional position.
The door 19 is of circular form and con-v tains an opening 22 which registers with the opening 18 when the door 1s inopen position, so that the valves in the base are accessible through either opening 18 or 18l` when the dooris in open position, but so that when the door is revolved to close the opening 18 the oppositeopening 18 is also closed. v
I also provide the door with an outturned apertured plate 25 and the housing with a cooperating apertured plate 26` for receivinga padlock27, whereby the door may be locked in closed position.
In order to determine `the amount of liq-` uid being delivered into or from the device I provide each of the tanks with vertically disposed and graduated gage glasses 30 whichare mounted attheir lower ends `in L-fittings 31 openinginto the tanks at their bases, and are extended at their upper ends into cock fittings 32 having a pipe 3Q opening into the upperends of the tanks; each of the fittings being provided with a valve 33 which may be turned to permitV the dis charge or inta-ke of air into the tanks as the latter are `filled `or emptied.
To prevent a `fiow of liquid from the tops.
of the tanks when the latter are filled from the supply pipes 10--10, l provide floats 35 of any suitable material, which are adapted to move vertically within the gage tubes as the liquid flows to orfrom the` tanks connected therewith. Y Each of the floats is provided with a tapered upper end 36 which is adapted to rest, when at its upper limit, within a seat 38 within its cock fitting 32 to close the exhaust opening 39 leading therefrom, and thereby shut off the escape of air from the Copie: o! `this tank and prevent the escape of liquid from the tank, the float lying in front of the outlet from the pipe 32 when in its seat to shut ofi' the outlet of air from the tank and prevent the escape of liquid from the tank through the valve. i
Assuming that the device is so constructed the operator, to fill the tanks, opens the valves 12-12 to admit liquid from the sup ply source into the tanks 3--3 andopens the valves 33 to permit airto discharge fromthe tanks as the liquid enters.
When the tanks are filled the operator closes the valves' 12-12 to prevent any additionalflow to the tanks. u j
To dispense the liquid from the tanks the valves 1.7-#17 are first opened and the liquid drawn .by operation, of the faucet valves 16e-16'., However, it is not essential to have the twq sets of valves, but such is desirable as theinclosed valves when closed prevent draining of the fluid from the tank,
except by one having access thereto through Having thus described my invention what I claim as new therein and desire to secure by Letters-Patent, iszi 1. A fluid dispensing device Comprising,
a hollow base, a` pair of closed tanks mounted 4on said base; said tanks being substantially` semi-circular in cross section and placed back to back in spaced relation to form a circular body, clamp plates seated against adjacent edges of the opposite tanks` bolts extending between saidtanks-and attached to said clamp plates, andnuts on said bolts whereby said plates are tightened against the said tanks, forth.
2. A hollow supporting base, circular in cross section and having-an open upper end, apair of closed tanks, substantially semicircular in cross-section, placed back to back in spaced relation to form a circular body, extended within said baseV and supported thereby,` clamp plates seated against adjacentedges of the opposite tanks and tie bolts extending between said tanks and through said clamp plates whereby said plates may be tightened against' said tanks 'ANDREWr A.
