Be it known that I, HENRY LEYH, a citizen of the United States, residing at Bertha,

1n the county of Todd and State of Minnesota, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Washbasin-Brackets, of which the following is a specication.

sides in the provision of a pivoted support- -ing `member whereby that member may be raised or tilted and by so doing will discharge the contents of a receptacle carried thereby into a suitable sewer connection so positioned as to receive the same.

The advantages accruing from this invention, wherein a pivoted supporting bracket is supplied in conjunction with a sewer connection, may be noted, as providing for an arrangement which maybe adapted for supporting a wash basin, and when the user thereof has finished bathing himself he may grasp the pivoted supporting arm thereby tilting the wash basin and discharging its contents into the drain receptacle.

Referring more specifically to the drawings wherein like reference characters designate corresponding parts in the several views, 1 are supporting brackets having extensions 2 and 3, and suitable bearing portions arranged in one of the extensions, as shown at 4. 5 is a curved receptacle supporting arm pivotally connected to the bearing portions 4 at its ends 6, and being supplled with a handle 7 for the purpose of enabling the user to raise or tilt the same. 8 is a sewer connection having attached thereto a bowl 9, formed with Haring side portions and being supported tol a wall by suitable connections. 10 designates a receptacle, the rim of which is engaged by the arm 5, .thereby supporting the same.

It will be noted that the flexible supporting arm 5, is formed from a strip of material and is bent to form a substantially U-shaped construction, as illustrated clearly in Figs. 1 and 2. Thearm is provided with a p air of alined `notches 5 in its upper periphery and as these notches are formed so as to project below the level of the periphery of the arm, it is obvious these notches will be provided at each end with abutment shoulders 5". It is therefore obvious that the fiange 10 of the base 10 which is of the usual construction of this type of basins, will pass through the alined notches 5. Of course, by referring to Fig. 2, it will be noted that the greater portion of the supporting arm 5 will engage the basin under the Harige 10. owever, the overturned edge of this flange will be received by the notches 5 thus causing the basin l0 to be firmly supported. It will further be noted that the formation of the notches also provides the abutmentshoulders, as above specified and for this reason when the arm is swung upwardly, to the position indicated in dotted lines in Fig. 2, the abutment shoulders 5 will hold the basin from slipping back onto the brackets or from engagement with the supporting arm. Therefore, the basin will be held on the supporting arm so that when it is swung upwardly the liquid contents thereof may be discharged and also to cause the basin to be held in position to be again used when the supporting arm is again swung downwardly to the normal horizontal plane.

Assuming that the device is to be used, a receptacle is placed upon the supporting arm 5 and lled with water or other fluid to be used during the operation, and when such operation is finished and it is desired to empty the receptacle of its contents, the user grasps the handle 7, raising the same so that the supporting arm 5 is swung upon its pivoted bearing portions 6, thereby tilting the receptacle sufficiently to allow for the discharging of its contents into the bowl 9 whereby the same may be conveyed away by the sewer connection 8.

From the foregoing, it will be understood that I have provided a construction which enables the user to empty a receptacle of its contents, and further providing for a pivotally supported bracket and whereby the receptacle may only empty the same but Will also support it in an out-of-the-Way position .Wherezthe l With each other, said arm having an even .upper edge throughout its entflef lllglfi5 same may remain until again used.
