This invention is a foldingcrib. attachme nt for bedsteads wherein they crib maybe folded and slid under an ordinarybed'stead. One object of the invention is 'tofprovide an attachment so that acrib maybe "slid under the ordinary. bedstead when" in aft tolded position.

Another object is to-provide an attachment that may be removablysecuredfto the bed in a strong and rigid manner which will permit of easy withdrawal of the Cllb, when 1t is desired to utilize the crib for re'stingpurposes. a

The inventiombroadly stated, comprises a folding crib that is adapted to] slidebeneath a bedstead in cooperation with suitable'ways or guides suspended fromthe side rails of the bedstead, the head and foot ends of the crib being foldable through rotation around fixed points, which ends are, operatively connected together by means of rods or bars, side. rails for supporting a mat-' tress and springs which are also operatively connected with the ends so that upon withdrawalof the crib fromfbeneath the bedstead, the rails are simultaneously raised which serves to move the mattress where its top will lie in substantially the same plane asthe top of the bedstead mattress, and locking means to retain the crib in, its withdrawn position when the ends are raised tothe vertical' plane.

One practical form of constructlonand assembly will be described andillustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which' Figure 1 is .a perspective View with the crib withdrawn from beneath the bedstead.

In order to provide for a more complete closure of the external side or length of the crib when withdrawn from beneath the bedstead, the side B may be employed. This may be solid or of the same design as the head and foot boards. It may also be formed of two members C'and D p'ivotal'ly connected with the'posts '21 and also be provided with suitable locking means. These doors or closures C and D may be adapted to fold inwardly against their respective ends or boards 18 and 19.

When it is desired to move the crib to its position beneath the bed, the closures C and D are 'unlatched and folded against their respective ends, The pawls 37 are disconnected and the boards or ends 18 and" 19 are moved around their pivoted connection on the rods 16 and 17 so that they tend to lie upon the top of the mattress 34. In doing so, the curve members 31 by means of their pivotal connections with the posts of a slidable crib having pivotally mounted head and foot boards operatively connected with the side rails, said latter connection serving to raise and lower the crib when changed from its operative to inoperative position, and means to automatically retain the boards in a raised position.

2. A crib attachment for bedsteads comprising hangers secured thereto, guide and support members connected to the hangers and extending transversely of the bedstead, a crib provided With cooperative members connecting head and foot boards with its side rails, side boards having a pivotal connection With the guide and support to permit of the raising and lowering of the side rails of the crib, means serving to lock the boards in a raised position and a swingable closure for the external side of the crib.
