It will be understood that the embodiment of my invention selected for illustration is intended only for the purpose of affor-ding a clear understanding of the in- I vention and that I am not to be restricted to such specific form, but that numerous departures therefrom and changes therein may be resorted to within the scope of my claims and Without departing from my invention I or sacrificing any of its advantages.

In a pistol, a magazine chamber for cap tape, said magazine being open on its upper side, a member fitting in said opening 1 and having a downward extension by which it is ivoted within the magazine, a plunger gagementwith the closure member so as to H in the pistol barrel adapted to engage said member, and a spring about said plunger and, adapted to press the plunger into enhold it in position to close the magazine and to present the end thereof as an anvil block. 3,. In a pistol, a magazine, for cap tape open on its upper side, a hammer, a starwheel mounted, for rotation and having its pron s extending into contact with the tape for; a vancing the same, said prongs serving also for-operating the hammer, a spring-depressed closure for said magazine, said closure means, serving to hold the cap tape contact with the starwheel prongs, and
also serving the additional functions of an anvil block and a guide for the cap tape, and trigger means for rotating the starwheel step by step.
5. In a pistol, a starwheel mounted for serves to impart step by step rotation to the starwheel engaging a prong thereof when moved in one direction and moving past the prongs thereof when moved inthe opposite direction.
6. In a pistol, a magazine for cap tape, a hammer, starwheel for advancing the cap tape and also operating the hammer, and a guide on the hammer for the cap tape.
7 In a pistol, a starwheel having its prongs notched out on aside thereof, a trigger having means to engage said prongs and rotate said starwheel step by step, said trigger being adapted to ride over the notched out portion of the starwheel prongs when moved backward.

In a pistol, a starwheel, a hammer, means on the hammer whereby rotation of the starwheel actuates the hammer, a trigger adapted to rotate said starwheel step by step in one direction, and spring means for pressing said trigger yieldingly into engagement with said starwheel, whereby the trigger may retreat past the prongs of the starwheel.

In a pistol, a magazine for cap tape, a starwheel mounted for rotation and having its prongs extending into contact with the cap tape so as to advance the same, a hammer having a projection extending into the path of the prongsof the starwheel whereby the hammer is actuated from the starwheel and the starwheel heldiroin retrograde? movement, said hammer having a second projection serving as a guide for the cap tape, and trigger actuated means for in1- parting step by step rotation to said starwheel. 1
