In reducing my invention to practice, I first provide a storage tank 10 of the desired capacity, which may be arranged to be movable by means of the supporting wheels such as indicated at 11. The storage tank may further be provided with an operatorsseat such as indicated by the numer l 2 from.

With a View of providing a novel form of gate to effectually C10 Passage through the member 14 and thus control the dispensement of the fluid contents of the stor-, age tank 10, I employ a cover plate 19, that is preferably formed of metal, and which is provided along its upper edge with spaced eye bearings 20. To the outer face of the cover plate 19 I v i attach a member 26 which is in turn secured to one end of an operating rod 27 as shown at 28. The operating rod is passed upwardly through a suitable openingin the upper portion of the storage tank 10, its upper end terminating adjacent the operators seat 12. It is readily apparent that the gate will normally seat on the edge of the memb 14 under P e ure of the o t ts f he i tank so that when desiring to dispense the contents, the operator may simply draw the rod27 upwardly thereby unseating the gate dispensing spout 29 as shown at 30, the spout in the present embodiment being in inan obvious manner. 7 I

' The operation of my invention is substantially as followsi p v Under weight of the contents of the storage tanklO, the gate above referred to will be firmly held in a seated position. When in this position, the cap 23 will overlie the inner edges of the member 14 thereby securing a water-tight connection. When desiring to dispense the contents or in other words to flush the sewer or other conduit, theoperatorflrst places the flexible tube 32 so that it will project into the man hole or other conduit-after which the operating lever 27 may be drawn upwardly so as to effect the unseating of the gate. Upon the moving of thegate from a seated position, the contents of the storage tank will find egress through the member 14 and hence to the spout 29 and the flexible tube 32 to the sewer. Upon dispensing a sufficient amount'of the contents of the storage tank,
7 the operator may release the rod27 whereby the gate .will automatically be moved into to a seated position- From the foregoing it is believed that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily understood and therefore further details of description are deemed unnecessary.
In reducing my invention to practice I find that the form referred to herein as the most practical and preferred embodiment is the most eflicient, but realizing that certain conditions will necessarily vary in connection with the adoption of my device, I desire to emphasize the fact that various minor changes in the details of construction and in the proportion of parts may be resorted to when required without sacrificing any of the advantages of my invention as defined in the appended claim.
Having thus fully described my invention, What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
A portable sewer flushing apparatus, comprising a tank mounted on wheels and of a capacity to hold suflicient water for flushing, and having a relatively large outlet in the lower portion of its rear end for the quick discharge of the water, a tubular member within the tank and resting on the Y bottom thereof and having its outer end flanged and secured to the rear end of the tank in line with the outlet thereof, and having its upper end cut away at a forward and downward angle from the rear end of the tank to the bottom thereof, there being a forward and downward extension at the top of said outlet integral with the tubular member and provided with spaced lugs, a gate hinged to said lugs and elosable on the inner andupper side of the tubular member,
means extending through the tank for operating the gate, and a dispensing spout secured to the rear end of the tank and in line with the outlet of the tank, said spout having a flexible delivery tube.
