' SCREEN'.
To all 'whom it 'may concern:
Be it known that I, CLYDE J COLEMAN, a citizen. of the United States, and a resident of New'York, county of New York, and State'of New'- York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements lin Screens,
" ofwhich the following is avspecification.
'My invention relates to screens, and more particularly to screens upon which moving pictures' and stereopticon views are pro- ]ected.
One object of my invention is to provide "'ajsoreen' 'which-the `iljluanimatien effect or ,f camouhtovf light isgreatlyincreased, so that vivid, and yet atthe same time the screen may be cheaply 4and easily made and isflexible, 'so lthat it may be conveniently lcarried v from place to placeand easily put up, Furtherobjects, l eatures 'and advanta es .will
l more 'clearly` 'appear'vfro'm the detalled description givenl below taken connection with the accompanyin ..drawing. which' f forms av part of this speci cation.

diffused by this face. The portion ofpthe lightwhi'ch manages to pass this face however, is not wasted. It is transmitted V,through the coating 3, and striking against the silver coating or reiecting surface '2 Ais refiected back, and increases the degreev ofl illumination of the surface 4. 11am'. aware that ithas been suggested `to vuse a. ground glassw'ith a reflecting back, but my' arrangement has distinct advantages over s'uch a screen since my improved screen is iexible, thus enabling it to be more easily put .up and carried fromplace to place, as well asu being vfar less ,expensive to manufacture, especially when the screens are of considerable size, And' furthermore, my improved screen has' a further distinct advanta e in that the coating 3 is comparatively thm so that the rays offlight are refiected at a point very Anear the surface 4,4 and thus .-lthos'e rayswhich passl l.through the `coating 'v dat, an angle thereto are reflected back-sub# f s'tantiallyjtozfthe same poi'ntiat-Which they zstrike'pthe surface 4. In hose screens in which-the rays oflight pas rough' a.' plate.
of glass'the glass isofnecessityyer 4much thicker than' thel coating-4 4-a1idthereore n the `adapted to reflect light rays transmitted through second coating and said second coating comprising a transparent material with a powder therein for making it partially opaque.
2. A screen of the class described, coniprising a flexible bod portion having a coating on one sidea apted 'to form areecting surface on that side and a. partiell 10 opaque coating over the first coating, bot
of said coatings being on the same side of the body portion.
In testlmony whereof, I have signed my, name to this specification, in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
