renders necessary the relative movementof parts thereof to a predetermined positionV "against resistance. `An examplelof such a structure is shovvn in the-drawings wherein thejvcove'r-section 11 must be rotated upon the` side-Wall 8, to a certain position before the lcover lcan be removed, the cover being of the side-Wall 8l and interlock'with the provided with depending lugs 22 adapted to register, when in one position, With`recesses 23 in a flange 24 provided on the upper end flange 24 When moved out of registration with said recesses, these lugs being notched 'as' represented at 25 for engagement With theV spring catch devices 26 which automati- .cally spring into thenotches 25 upon rotating the cover-section 11 to aV position in which the lugs22 are out'of registration f with the recesses 23, and may be released Yand thus when the teeth 20 are turned in- Wardlyto overlap theside ofthe disk 9 a series of depressions are formed about the periphery of this disk as shown in Fig. 6. These depressions are of such depth that in the process Vof crimping the cover 10 in p0- sitionV o'n the side-Wall 8 as stated the celluloidbulges into the said depressions as indicated at 29j thus Vinterlocking With the disk 9 and firmly holding this covered disk 13 to the side-Wall, to such a degree that it ivill not turn on the side-Wall 8 under the stresses to vvhich it is ordinarily subjected in the operatienof relatively rotating the parts of the structure to open lthe bank or l lock itsV parts together, this interlocking effect being augmented by the projection of the teeth 20beloiv the plane in which the v under surface overlapped by these teeth, eX-
tends, depending upon the thickness of metal vforming these teeth.
While I have illustrated and described a particular construction 'inwvhich my invention'is embodied I dojnot Wish to be understood as intending to limit it thereto, as the same may be variously modified and altered without departing from the spirit of my invention, it being my intention to claim my invention as fullyV and completely as the prior state of the art Will permit.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:
1. In a receptacle, the combination of a curved sidewall-forming member having an gutwardly flared end and al disk member located at the flared end of said side-Wall forming member, one of said members containing recesses and the other thereof provided vvith teeth 'extending into said rccesses and bent into overlapping position relative. to the other of said members, and a second disk covering said first-named disk and having a Vflange crimped into interlocking relation with the flared portion of said sidewall-forming member.
2. In a receptacle, the combination of a curved side-wall and a disk at one end of said side-Wall, said disk containing recesses in its periphery and said side-Wall having teeth extending into said recesses and bent into overlapping pbsition relative to the said disk, said recesses being deeper than the thickness of the metal forming said teeth to provide a series of laterally-extending project-ions about the periphery of said disk, and a second disk having a flange With a covering of celluloid, or the like material, extending over said last-named disk and about said flange, said second disk being held to said side-Wall by engagement of the flange With said side-Wall, with said covering interposed therebetween.
3. In a receptacle, the combination of a curved side-Wall-foi1ning member, a diskmember at the end of said first-named member, means interlocking said members together and presenting a series of depressions, and a second disk having a flange With a covering of celluloid, or the like materiahextending over said second disk and about said flange, said second disk having its flange crimped to hold said second disk to said members, With the celluloid interposed therebetween and between said flange and projecting into interlocking relation With the said depressions.
